I’ll get even with you, you S.O.B.

Does that ring a bell with you? Have often have you had that feeling?

If so, what have you done about it?

Whatever you did, did it make you feel better?

Did it devour your time?

Would you do the same thing again?

What was the response of the other person or people?

Before you did something, did you discuss your feelings with someone?

Did the action you took involve something physical?

Did you wait to cool down before you took the action?

Was the action repetitive?

Did you try resolving the issue before you took an action?

Is getting even a wasteful action?

Is it possible the other party didn’t consider the issue a problem.

Have you ever considered a second chance?

Are you able to forgive and forget?

If the incident was involving a loved one, would you handle it differently?

If you got an apology, would that satisfy you?

Are you more likely to seek revenge behind the wheel of your car?

As you grow older, are you less likely to seek revenge?

When you consider getting even, do the legal ramifications influence you?

Do you feel these inequities happen to you more than they happen to others?

Getting even is complicated. There are so many factors to take into account.

The answers to the above questions should help provide some perspective and assist you in making some meaningful decisions.
