We are emotional beings. Taking care of our emotional state should be top priority. We tend to focus so much on what we are eating. Sugar Free, dairy free, gluten free and so on. But what are we feeding our souls? Our minds? Our spirits?
Here are Three Positive Affirmations to start using daily, to shift your emotions into a sweet state.
I AM GRATEFUL
Having a gratitude practice is a sure way to make a positive shift in your life. Say it out loud, keep a gratitude journal. Affirm what you are grateful in your head as soon as you catch yourself feeling down. You will notice an instant shift in your mood. Gratitude turns feelings of lack into feelings of abundance. There is always something to be grateful for.
I LOVE AND ACCEPT MYSELF AS I AM
Loving yourself is a beautiful and mindful act. To love yourself fully means embracing your strengths and your weaknesses. When that inner mean voice starts going off (because it happens to all of us). Pause, take a breath, and be more gentle on yourself. You deserve the love you so willingly give to others. When you show yourself love by taking care of your body and mind and spirit. You have more love to give.
And you do not have to “like” everything about yourself in order to love yourself. You can still want to change things and grow and evolve. Just be sure to love yourself on the way.
I AM READY TO RELEASE WHAT NO LONGER SERVES ME AND RECOGNIZE WHAT DOES
Those things that are weighing heavy on your soul. Let them go. Believe me I know it is WAY easier said than done. Seems like life is a series of forgiveness towards others and ourselves. But there is power in the willingness to see things differently. What if we take all these lessons and use them as opportunities to grow, personally and spiritually?
Cultivating a positive affirmation practice allows us to notice when we have a negative thought. Because we will. We have about fifty to sixty thousand thoughts a day and there is no way they are all going to be positive.
But we get to recognize when we do, release it and replace it with one that serves us better.
I AM are two of the most powerful words a sentence can begin with. We are sending a signal out into the universe of what is in the present moment.
So next time you catch yourself saying something not so sweet, be sure to switch it and shift it. Your emotional state will thank you for it xo
