There are many professionals and entrepreneurs who have attained both inner and outer material wealth. And then there are those who feel guilty, awkward, or inferior around material wealth. Developing your inner wealth will actually help you come to terms with those limiting beliefs or conflicting ideas and feelings you may have about money and wealth.

Saying material wealth isn’t as important as love is an irrelevant comparison. Like arms and legs, they are both important and serve different functions. Material wealth is extremely important in areas in which It works, and extremely unimportant in areas in which it doesn’t.

“Money doesn’t make you a better or worse person.

Money makes you more of what you already are.”

– A quote from the Amazon bestseller “A Life with Health”

That being said, cultivating a strong core of inner wealth will bring us peace and a strong sense of purpose. It’ll also help us leverage our material wealth in order to bring greater purpose and meaning to our lives, and the world.

Here are 3 habits of people who cultivate inner wealth.

Habit 1: Stay Healthy. Physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

They aren’t afraid to reach out for help when they need it. Whether that means going to a doctor for a check-up, or getting into shape with a physical trainer, or getting help changing eating habits. It also means being humble enough to seek counselling to challenge sabotaging or toxic behaviours (everyone has a few) or seeing a coach that challenges their limiting-beliefs, or practicing self-care in a way that works for them.

The people who have cultivated inner wealth mindfully take care of both their bodies and their minds. And also, their spirits- by choosing to be consciously self-aware of how their choices, actions, and underlying motives affect others. And they are willing to self-correct as needed.

Habit 2: Productive Priorities.

Time is not money. You can always get more money. If you buy something you don’t like, you can return it, do a charge back, and get your money back. Can you do that with time? No. Time is your most precious commodity.

Those with inner wealth prioritize the use of their time above everything.

That means spending QUALITY (not quantity) time with family. That means limiting exposure to television, social media, and video games to a limit that makes sense to them. Obviously if they work for TV, they’re going to watch more TV than a person who doesn’t, etc.

They balance their responsibilities in all areas of life, and enjoy the benefits of setting productive priorities. They do this by developing goals, plans, schedules, deadlines, and diligently working in a persistent and relentless manner until they reach their goals.

Habit 3: They View Failure as an Opportunity.

Failure is not an excuse to give up. Once they’ve set their eyes on the prize, they will get it. Even if it means waiting patiently for years. Because they know that failure is just feedback. It doesn’t mean anything else except to find another way to win. Failure is an opportunity to learn and to grow, not an excuse to throw away everything you’ve been working towards. Their steady persistence in the face of adversity is what ultimately makes them successful, with both inner wealth and material wealth.

Which of these habits do you currently cultivate? Which one do you need to work on? Send this list to a friend who has inner wealth, and let us know in the comment section which habit you think is the most important one.
