Time is precious and time is life. We create balance in our lives by setting out time for work, leisure and family. Time keeps us organized and helps us to keep track of our daily duties. We all have 24hrs in the day and the way we use it can frankly make or break us. Whilst good timing will keep you healthy and wealthy; bad timing could land you in trouble.

Time management will keep you highly productive and efficient. Setting a time based agenda and making sure to strictly could help manage your time. Life can get so hectic that we oftentimes forget our “to do lists” and go with the unexpected; but some of the worlds must successful people have prescribed ways to manage time without distractions.

Punctuality

Punctuality is the absence of lateness. It entails be available at set times. By being punctual, you portray yourself as reliable. You build a culture of punctuality by setting reminders and notifications for meetings, deadlines and family time.  A 2014 Article by Fast company .com outlined 4 attributes of punctual people.

  • They are realistic peopleThey develop daily realistic habits.
  • They give themselves buffer time- They add extra time to resumption periods. For example for a meeting of 0900am a punctual person will plan to arrive 0845am
  • They are organized- Analyze their daily activities, set routines, stick to them. They set structure for themselves.
  • They are comfortable with Downtime – They make time for a little leisure.

Times to speak and times to be quiet

Knowing when to speak and when to be quiet can influence your relationships with work colleagues, friends and family. It can also be instrumental with winning negotiations, forging relationships and giving a speech.

Speak when what you have to say is valuable and speak clearly and audibly to avoid loosing your audience. Speak when you are asked a question and also speak to contribute to team assignment; and speak to forge and keep relationships. Speak up to defend you or to defend others; and speak to give meaningful advice.

On the other hand, silence they say is golden and when utilized at the right time; will take you far. Successful leaders of all works of life use silence for meaningful messaging. Silence is good when you cannot think of anything to say or when you want to shorten an argument. Silence will best be suited for deescalating arguments or fights with friends, family or colleagues.
