In this video we’re going to talk about how do you know when it’s time to let go of a toxic relationship.
There are three key indicators that I know it’s time to let go and move on from a toxic relationship.
Key indicator number one is the desire to be around that person begins to wane.
A lot of times we don’t like to admit that to ourselves.
We find that we put that off or we ignore how we’re feeling.
I know I’ve been in a toxic relationship where I have been attached to someone for years too long because I was afraid to really look at the truth.
I was afraid to see that I didn’t desire to be around that person anymore.
It was nothing personal except I was going in a different direction than they were.
I needed to grow on my path but I wasn’t allowing myself to do that and because of that life became stagnant. It became hard and it became a struggle.
So key number one is listening to your internal desires, the real truth.
Ask yourself, do you really want to be around this person?
The other key indicator is on the flip side of the coin.
When someone is not showing up consistently in your life and it’s a struggle to get them to connect with you.
It’s time to let them go. Now it may not be anything about you.
Maybe you’re diverging on different paths, but honestly when you start to tap into your internal truth you’re gonna naturally know when it’s time to let go of a toxic relationship.
You’ll know when it’s time to move on.
If you’re really listening to your internal truth and when you get to that space, you actually start to attract other people who understand that space and are willing to let go of relationships easier when they serve their purpose and it’s time to let go.
So if you really start to work on this and be honest with yourself.
You will find that the dissolution of relationships is actually much easier.
Moving on from healthier relationships is a less painful experience because you’re not so emotionally entangled and attached in an unhealthy way.
The third thing that I look for when I know it’s time to let go
of a relationship is when you feel like you’re dragging this person forward.
That you are trying to grow and this person is just not having it.
When they want to stay in the same comfort zone and you feel like you’re literally like picking them up putting them on your back and trying to carry them forward, it’s time to move on.
A lot of times, I will even feel these emotions in my body. It feels like heaviness on my shoulders.
It’s an emotional burden of me trying to grow and trying to carry a hundred pound rock on my back.
Now some people just don’t want to grow and other people do.
Like I said before when you start to grow more you’re going to find people who want to grow more too.
They’ll know that when you’re here you’re enjoying the moment together and when it’s time to go, it’s time to go.
Eventually you may circle back with someone but when you’re letting go of a relationship, you never let go with the intention of this is going to circle back; that only keeps you attached to the energy of the old and doesn’t allow you to create the new; to manifest the next best version of what you want in your life.
I know this is really difficult for people because we are so emotionally attached; especially to people that we’ve been around our entire lives.
When we begin to grow it gets to be a difficult thing.
