Summer holidays can be the prime time for business owners like ourselves to lose our mojo. The kids are running free and you have little time on your hands to focus on yourself, here’s a few tips and tricks to get that mojo back.
Challenge Yourself
One of the best ways I find myself using to get my mojo back is setting myself a new challenge. Sure, you may have slacked a bit this summer but that’s no excuse to let your business fail.
If you feel like you’ve lost direction, set yourself a new target for September. This could be anything from a rebrand to securing a new client.
Get Creative
Being in charge of your own business isn’t easy, but sometimes it can feel a bit monotonous, right? That’s were your creative side comes in. I’m not suggesting that dropping everything and running off to an art resort is the way to go (although it would be nice) but creating a new way to sell yourself to clients can really bring back that motivation you might be missing.
Think of it as a fresh start but without all the hard work.
Branch Out
It’s not rare for business owners to lose their mojo and get stuck in a cycle of little progress. That’s why branching out to other businesses or friends can bring that different perspective you’ve been looking for. Don’t see it as a cry for help but a way to share your ideas with others in order to better each other.
It is advice like this that is in my line of work, so if you’re really stuck in a rut with where to go with your business, I am here to help you!
Change it Up
There will always be parts of your business that are painful to complete. Whether that is the social media side of things or the number-crunching, everyone has their kryptonite! These challenges don’t have to be the dreaded wall you can’t get past, find new ways of organising yourself or change to a different software to help you with the things that cause you stress.
Making these changes may not seem like much but the easier your job is, the more motivation you’ll have to keep that business mojo!
Take Time
Often, running your own business can feel like it takes up every minute of your day. You wake up thinking if you replied to all your emails last night and go to bed hoping that client is as excited as you are to work together.
Although being totally in love with your business is great, don’t let it rule your life. Take time out for yourself and pick up a new interest. A study found that the more people engaged with a hobby, the more likely they were to be better problem-solvers in their own job. See, having fun can still help your business!
