Do you want to live your best life? Do you want to have less stress, more confidence and greater energy? These 7 habits can help get you there quickly. They are based on research and proven to help you create healthy habits so you can live your best life!

Habit 1: exercise
Make it a priority. Not only does it reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease but it also helps decrease anxiety, depression and improves your confidence. With all these benefits its vital to make exercise a part of your daily routine. How much exercise do we need? 150 minutes of moderate intensity or 75 minutes of vigorous intensity a week. Incorporate core strengthening, weight training, cardiovascular, stretching, balance exercises and you will be set.

Habit 2: sleep
Most research indicates we need at least 7 hours of sleep otherwise it’s detrimental to our brain health. A sleep deficit can develop which can take a toll on our health over time. It can contribute to heart disease, diabetes, affect our memory and mood. Create healthy sleep habits by establishing a bedtime routine. Getting 10 minutes of morning sunlight helps to set your circadian rhythm. Wake up and sleep at the same time every day. Avoid caffeine after 10 am.

Habit 3: Develop a strong mindset. You can do this with journaling about things that you’re grateful for or journal just to get your emotions out. When you journal you are releasing and reflecting on things. It can help you distinguish between emotions and fact. By making journaling a regular practice it can help you think strong. And when your thoughts are strong you will see great results in all areas of your life. As Marcus Elliot said “when you can master your mind, you can master your reality”.

Habit 4: Do something each day to relax. It could be something like meditation, yoga, riding your bike, going for a walk, or reading a book.
It will look different for each person but it’s important to do something regularly that helps you be more in the present. This will help you be more mindful during the day.

Habit 5: Eat nutrient dense foods.
Avoid highly processed foods and foods with a high sugar content. Eat more fruits and vegetables. Choose lean meats. When you make a commitment to eat healthy you will not only look better but will feel better. And you’ll have more energy.

Habit 6: Allow time for more joy, play, laughter and creativity in your life. Schedule things that give you happiness. Think about when you were a kid and what you loved doing. We all have an inner child within us and it’s so important to schedule things in your life that give you joy and laughter. Maybe it’s a sport you love, join a club, take up painting, dance, listen to music, anything that gives you that spark – the joy that you had when you were a kid.

Habit 7: Set SMART goals.
Set smart goals and make a commitment to stay consistent so that habits can form.
It takes 66 days to create habits as research shows. Smart goals need to be specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time specific. For instance, if you want to work out this week, it’s more effective to say you’re going to workout 3 days this week at 5 PM and do a weightlifting routine. The more specific you are with your goal setting the more likely it is to happen.

These 7 habits can help you live your best life. The results are incredible. Stay consistent and you’ll have more confidence, less stress, greater energy and health.
