There’s no better investment you can make in your life than in yourself. So, start living your life for you and not anyone else. Here are ten ways you can live a happier and more fulfilled life just by taking care of you:

Find what makes you happy

Life is too short to be miserable all the time. Don’t live your life for others, trying to please them and doing things you think they want you to do. Do what makes you happy. Love reading? Find the time to read more. Get a kick out of exercising? Get up an hour earlier each day and go for a run. Love sports? Join a team. Find your passion and do it. You only get one life, so you may as well live it the way you want to.

Learn something new

Successful people are constantly learning. When you stop learning, you stop growing. Take an online class, find a hobby, learn a language, take cooking classes – do something that you’ve always wanted to do, but never found the time to. You will be richer for it.

Trust your gut

You know yourself and you know when something does not feel right. Listen to your gut. Trust your intuition – it will help you make better decisions about people and situations.

Eat right

You know the saying, “your body is a temple – look after it.” It’s simple really – fuel your body with foods that will make you feel better, not worse. The fresher, the better!


Exercise is the best natural endorphin there is. Need another good reason? Here are five: better mood, increased energy, better quality sleep, improved sex life, increased ability to keep diseases at bay. So, get moving, even if it’s just for 15-20 minutes a day.

Schedule in “me-time”

Life is crazy and chaotic. We are so busy doing, that we don’t take the time to stop and just “be.” Spend some time each day, even if it’s just for 5 or 10 minutes to do something for yourself. You will be amazed at how much more relaxed you will feel afterwards.

Own your decisions

Don’t live with regret – it will eat you up inside and cause you more undue stress and anxiety than is necessary. You can’t go back in time and change a decision you made, so accept it and move on. Own your decisions, back yourself and have the confidence that it will work out.

Eliminate stress

Live is too short to be stressed and unhappy all the time. If there’s something in your life that’s causing you a lot of stress, keeping you up at night, and making you feel sick (quite literally) ask yourself if it’s really worth it. If your job is making you more unhappy than happy, find a new one.
