When I was six, my best friend Karen and I were captivated by a place far, far away. Second star to the right and straight on until morning. Never, Neverland. Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, Captain Hook, and Lost Boys.

Tinkerbell was our hero! We wanted nothing more than to fly.

We knew the answer lay in Tinkerbell’s pixie dust. Anyone sprinkled with the dust could fly! So naturally, we endeavored to create pixie dust.

There wasn’t a lot of grants or funding available to six-year-olds at the time, and our resources were, shall we say, limited. But we were not to be deterred. Using the resources immediately available to us, we combined substances that fit our pixie dust criteria, salt and sugar are sparkly, and flour, danced in the air when you clapped it in your hands.

My bedroom was our laboratory. We placed our mixtures in the dark under my bed, over the heat register on the floor, in the sunshine on the window seal. We adapted the amounts of each ingredient, added some, took some away, we varied the time of day, length of the placement – well we didn’t fly, but that did not stop us from imagining, imagining more.

Thanks to our desire to create Tinkerbell’s pixie dust and fly like Peter Pan, I unconsciously internalized a quest to be more. It wasn’t until recently when I created the concept of MORE and wrote my first book, “the little book of MORE: the evolution of YOU,” that I connected the impact of Tinkerbell, to my life’s quest. MORE is an acronym for four core elements, Meaning, Owning, Relationships, and Emotions. It is by continually focusing on and fostering these elements that I continue to evolve into my potential. It is by sharing MORE that I hope to inspire others to expand their potential, after all, living our potential is our ability to FLY.

Thanks, Tink.
