Diane Conquest is a world traveler and fashion blogger with a mission. Her love for fashion and female empowerment can be seen throughout her online brand and she contributes a large part of her self-confidence to her parentage and upbringing. “I’m unafraid to speak my truth. Both [of] my parents were influential; however, my mother was the true definition of a go-getter. She loves to empower women and help everyone around her.” She also sheds light on how her heritage and culture has played a pivotal role in her courage and success as a woman. “African women naturally have a certain fearlessness that may have originated from the need [to survive].  In my culture and particularly how I was raised, my mother was as important as was my father. That may explain why I openly take stand on @abitofstyle when it comes to issues regarding women.  Based on African beliefs, my father used to say to me, ‘Nature has laws, and if you follow them, you will be fine no matter where you go’ and that belief has impacted my brand too.”

Conquest has undergone many challenges in her life. When forced with these challenges, she’s unlocked doors to new opportunities and reached new heights in personal growth. Since her move to Paris from Benin, she has travelled the world, lived in four continents, learned two different African dialects, and has become fluent in four different languages—it’s safe to say that she is truly a woman of the world.

Inspiring the Youth Through Fashion

Conquest has mastered the art of visual empowerment. She not only encourages women to love themselves, but she shows them how to do it. By representing beauty, class, and elegance, she serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration to other young women who look like her, but may not be fortunate enough to seek global adventure.

When asked how her lifestyle could positively influence young women, she said, “I hope that my travels around the world inspire young girls everywhere. Especially young Black girls in far away places where people don’t often have the opportunity to travel.”

Eyes on the Price

Diane Conquest is a woman who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go after it. She understands the power of social media marketing and plans to use all of the resources that are available to her to gain more brand awareness, trust, and build outreach. She also plans to partner with notable companies in the travel and fashion industry as well. Her aspirations continue to grow with every milestone that she achieves, and she plans on taking her love of fashion to greater heights in the future.

Global Digital Influencer

Despite all of the backlash that she’s received from challenging preconceived ideas, she’s managed to inspire women from all over the world to experience life, and she believes that her online brand has helped put various travel destinations and clothing brands in front of new consumers. She states that many of her social media followers have found new travel destinations such as Bali, or Kuala Lumpur. “Through photos shared by me on my page, I know numerous people have made travel plans to those destinations or a particular hotel that I have stayed and talked about.”

As a piece of advice to those who would like to follow in her footsteps, she says, “Always do your best without expecting any recognition or pay out right away.”
