It seems that everywhere you go, for the most part, businesses are popping up everywhere…which is good! Even better, it seems that it is the age of the Entrepreneur and Millennials seem to be sparking this new era. Millennials are one of the most educated age group. In fact, 34% of all millennials have at least a bachelor’s degree. Likewise, the ones who are not graduated are working on their bachelor’s. Being the most educated age group, there has to be something we millennials can do with all of that knowledge. I know none of us really want to work for the man like our preceding generations. So this begs the question… why are millennials starting businesses instead of getting jobs?

Life is too short to be unhappy

I won’t lie about my eccentric generation, we have our faults. However, one good thing I will tell you is that we don’t want to be unhappy. Millennials have seen the oppression our parents have suffered working jobs that they hate. It’s time to change that. Contrary to popular belief, millennials are really hard workers…when it comes to what they are passionate about. Therefore, when they start businesses they are passionate about, they are way more likely to succeed. The thought of working for someone for the rest of my life besides myself just shakes me to my core. When you are passionate about something, there is nothing that can stop you, and I mean NOTHING. So, because of all of this, most millennials feel that life is too short to be unhappy, and they want to put that education to better use than just a 9-5.

Earning Potential is Unlimited

I don’t care what anyone says, if you are willing to put in good old hard work, you can make any business work. In addition to that, when you own your own business, the earning potential is unlimited if you really think about. I think that is something that is really appealing to millennials. I’ve talked to a lot of friends, and most of them say they want to retire in their early 50’s. You can’t do that with a normal job unless you have ABSOLUTELY no fun in your life, which isn’t good either. Because of the potential for great wealth, millennials are racing to open their businesses and bring their ideals to the world. From the looks of it, even with all of the negativity in our country right now, it seems like some good is happening right now, and there is more to come in the future. Millennials are going to be the age group that actually makes this country great again.
