“JUMP and your pain ends here.” That was my dark side convincing me it was the right thing to do.

That was 15 years ago.

Looking back now, I am grateful I did not succumb to it.

Never give up HOPE that one day things will get better. Even if you foresee it to be a long, exhausting and suffocating journey for years to come.

YOU are NOT ALONE. Somebody out there will understand you. He or she is walking the same path as you even without knowing you. Ask for help! Do not suffer in silence.

These are parts of me, which I am sharing.

We all have our own stories, uniquely crafted by our beliefs, karma (I know it exists), social expectations and responsibilities, including ‘the situations’ and choices we make.

Some of us are proud of our past, like the beautiful stories behind each golden lining. Sean Buranahiran’s video is a perfect example of how to become proud of your scars: http://bit.ly/beproudofyourscars. These stories might be the most valuable life lessons that we choose to pass on or use to inspire another person.

However, there are also stories that are too painful to recall even for a second. They cut like a blade, deep enough to bring excruciating pain which lasts for a long time. They wake us up in the middle of the night, leaving us panting and feeling hopeless.

If you are struggling with the misery right now, please contemplate on wisdom shared in the video and forgive yourself for those broken pieces in you. Pull yourself together and pick yourself up again and again. Nobody is perfect. We have our faults and we all make mistakes. This is fact of life.

Searching for explanations to my life’s stories over the years has helped me to see myself for who I really am. I have learnt to trust my intuition, by being a caring and loving person. In doing so, I attract the same like-minded people into my life circle.

Only when I invest in myself, taking responsibility and exhibiting the qualities and values I wish to attract, will I be drawn to people with the same value set. Call it what you will, the law of attraction or karma maybe?

If I want love, I need to be loving. If I want kindness, I need to be kind towards others and myself. If I am seeking intelligence, I first need to be humble.

I see our unspoken stories that we hold dearly to our hearts as treasures in a hidden box. You never know which golden lining bowls or treasures you will pull out. Whichever you pick, it does not matter. What matters is you are a well-polished jewel, ready to take shape and be a unique and inspiring individual.

Every scar that you have is a reminder not just that you got hurt, but you survived.”-Michelle Obama

Shall we begin to create a better story for ourselves and others? So that the future you would be proud of the present you? Let us all find the beauty in what once was broken.

My challenge to you should you relate to this and want to redefine your reality:

Before the end of this week: Identify your best qualities and project them to the world. Before meeting new people or going to important events, prime yourself. Think, “I’m going to focus on a strength like my sensitivity, compassion, or intelligence, I’m going to feel and trust the positive energy inside me. I’m going to claim my full power.” Such selective attention puts your best parts front and centre and your gold starts repairing your broken pieces.

Last but not least, if you ask me now if I am proud of my stories, my answer is YES I AM! Scars and all.

I would love to hear from those of you who took up my challenge. How was it for you?
