Aurore Pariente says , a successful business may start with a remarkable idea, but it’s sustained by hard work and a healthy dose of creativity. Effective entrepreneurs have the necessary knowledge, but they must also be adaptable and imaginative. The best have a balanced mix of several skills. Entrepreneurship takes ingenuity, perseverance, and most importantly, a little creativity. “How do I know if I have what it takes?” This question plagues almost every entrepreneur – or would-be entrepreneur – at some point in their career.

If you really want to be successful as an entrepreneur, you need to invest in yourself and build valuable skills over time.  Why does one entrepreneur succeed where another one fails? What is the secret ingredient that allows an entrepreneur to succeed in business? In general, how can you become a good entrepreneur, really? Many start-up entrepreneurs are obsessed with these questions. While successful entrepreneur models proliferate nowadays, it is still very hard to define the essence of entrepreneurial success. If you are thinking about becoming an entrepreneur, you are more than likely wondering what it truly takes. There’s no cookie-cutter answer that applies to everyone.

Entrepreneurs have a lot of responsibility on their hands. While trying to launch a startup, they also must manage a team and maybe figure out how make the perfect pitch to investors. Unfortunately, there are only so many pots of coffee to consume before the eager new business owner hits a wall says Pariente.

But what if there were ways to make a person a better entrepreneur? A small tip or a fresh approach might boost your creativity, enhance productivity and help make you the lean, mean entrepreneur that you’ve always wanted to be.

Get gritty

Grit is perseverance. Grit is the go-get-’em attitude that we expect of entrepreneurs. Grit is the ability to keep working when everyone tells you that you should give up. If you want to be a successful entrepreneur, you have to be gritty.

Honestly, without hard work and perseverance, you’re not going anywhere in the entrepreneurial world.

Do what you love

It is clear that as an entrepreneur, you’re not just doing what you’re passionate about. Of course not! You have to learn how to accomplish a whole range of tasks that will take you out of your comfort zone.  You have to learn to delegate and concentrate on your strengths. The good news is that your strengths are necessarily what you enjoy using. Your natural skills are those that energize you, make your tasks easy and pleasant; they make you feel vital.

Challenge yourself

If you want to be a successful entrepreneur, you have to challenge yourself. No one else is going to push you, so it’s up to you to do it.

Challenges keep entrepreneurs nimble and on their toes. If you’re constantly looking for the next challenge, you’ll always be prepared for what comes your way.

Learn how to fail

The worst enemy of an entrepreneur is pride. Successful entrepreneurs have previously experienced monumental failures. If you can’t accept failure from the start, don’t begin your project. It’s the failures that build successful entrepreneurs, by bringing them knowledge and skills that are impossible to acquire otherwise. We call it life experience. It’s a simple as that.

Wake up with purpose daily, and be relentless.

The largest contributor to the success of an entrepreneur is the fact that they simply did it. They woke up every day, working hard until they made it happen. They pushed through, even during the difficult times.

Steve Jobs once said, “Life can be much broader, once you discover one simple fact, and that is that everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you. And you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use. Once you learn that, you’ll never be the same again.” quoted Aurore.
