There’s a saying that anyone can open a business but not everyone can become a business leader.

Being a business leader doesn’t mean you get to sit in a fancy chair and tell your employees how to manage their time and workload. It means creating an inspiring vision and guiding your team to achieve remarkable things, and coming up with innovative solutions.

It doesn’t just mean thinking outside the box but embracing that the ideas that are inside the box can be used in unthinkable ways. It’s all about creating an environment where every employee can thrive and find what helps them achieve their goals.

Ideas are meant to be shared and improved. They are meant to inspire and motivate. And inspiring your team to do better makes you a leader.

Creating an Amazing Vision Board

Vision boards do wonders at the office. This is because they help inspire employees to work harder and improve their performance.

Adding a vision board can help you remind your team of the achievements you’ve all worked to accomplish and how far dedication, perseverance and grit can go. I remember when my friend and client Kirsten created her vision board. She was a leader at a major US company, but HER vision board didn’t exactly match the vision board of that position within the company. I was so excited when she decided to follow her purpose and passion and jump into the world as an entrepreneur. To follew HER vision, her dream and her goals.

Here are a few ways you can create a stellar vision board for your company, or for your self:

 Be Clear
About Its Use

Vision boards are visual tools that help inspire through stunning images and inspirational text messages. To create one, you have to first understand what you want to achieve through one.

Do you want to highlight your organization’s achievements throughout the years so that everyone can be motivated and inspired to do more?

Or do you want to encourage your team through powerful images and messages?

Think about all these reasons and once you’ve identified the cause, start working on your vision board.

 Use Representational
Images

Go through a few magazines and see which images inspire you. Cut them out and use them on the board. Make sure that you don’t end up delaying everything in search for perfectionism. This way, you won’t be able to complete the whole thing.

Secondly, make sure that the images you use are all related to what your aim for the board is. Use words that are short but compelling.

 Use a
Theme

Don’t just clutter everything and put everything on top of each other. Look up vision board themes and use the one that fits your criteria. You can go for something simple or something fancy, but make sure it’s nothing too over-the-top. This will distract your team and clients from the board.
