Please take responsibility for the energy you bring into the space.
—Dr. Jill Taylor Bolte, American Author and Speaker
Intention is how we define or measure your being. Remember: everything is energy. Energy is constantly vibrating and resonating to, through, and from your being in the form of intention. The notion of being can seem vague or abstract and is generally characterized by an energy which you can’t see, but you can feel. Measuring intention is a way of making this invisible world of energy visible, giving you the ability to powerfully design and create your outcomes.
When I hear the word intention, it’s usually referring to what someone “meant” or “didn’t mean” to happen in a given situation. You’ll say, “I didn’t mean for that to happen,” or “That wasn’t my intention,” as if intention is just a thought or a single and separate entity from who you are and how you show up in a situation.
Consider this twist on the definition, intention is the full energetic measure of who you are being at any moment. You don’t have an intention. You are an intention.
Intention is more than a beginning thought or objective of what you hope happens. It is a measure of the full intensity and type of energy you hold towards experiencing a specific result in the real world. Intention resonates with you as an attitude or belief about your power to create what you want. It also radiates from your being as a signal to others and the universe about who you are and the results you are creating.
Your intention is an exact match for the outcome and impact you create. When you experience a response you don’t want or don’t like, you were still intentional about what you created. You were just unaware of the full anatomy of your intention at the time. Just as the words you speak are only 7% of your communication, your outward actions are only a fraction of how people interact with you.
Your internal world of energy can speak much louder than your actions.
Your full anatomy is what engages with others, so when you get a result or response you don’t want or like, check your intention. Who were you being? Don’t just check your thoughts and actions. Check your full anatomy; your feelings emotions, and your underlying beliefs. They always leave clues as to exactly how your outcome was created. You are a shining light. The forces attracted to that shining beam are based on the anatomy of who you are being.
You create it all. It’s all radiating from you as intention.
