Confidence; how do you gain it? how do you lose it? And, how come some people have so much of confidence?

Confidence; what are you exactly?

Do we gain trust in ourselves when we have achieved something incredible in our career? Or, do we lose it when someone told us that our outfit looks like crap?

Is it dependant on something or everything?

As I observe people around me, I found out some stuffs which intrigued me.

The girl who thinks she is not good enough because the guy stopped texting. The colleague who feels lost because the company fails to recognise his talents. The boy who fails his driving test or the woman who is not getting what she wants, despite so many efforts.

As humans, we derive our confidence from the things that happen to us in life. If the boyfriend says, “you’re beautiful” , the girlfriend feels an increase of belief within herself. Oh, these are little things.
I have seen employees feeling very confident when their supervisors praise their work.

But, then I have also seen the conviction dropping to zero if negative things are being said.

Lessons and bad experiences in life are inevitable. I mean, if those didn’t happen, it wouldn’t make us grow and life would have been pretty boring. Then, why should we let those affect our inner trust?

Why can’t confidence be innate?
Why can’t it be something which is unmoved?
Can we achieve this?

I believe that we can.. We just need to love ourselves a little bit more, and place faith in us more than anyone else.

“Low self-confidence isn’t a life sentence. Self-confidence can be learned, practiced, and mastered–just like any other skill. Once you master it, everything in your life will change for the better.” Barrie Davenport

Start by doing the things that you really love; those which brings you immense joy. And, I am not talking about those which you do with your friends/partners. Do the stuffs that you like doing alone.
You are going to fall in love with yourself..

And, as a result you will start building faith in yourself. Thus, being not dependable on anything else or anyone else around you.

You are going to be like. “yeah, it sucks that I failed at this but, I will try again and do it again till I win!”

Try it!

And, let me know about your thoughts on this topic.
