Children sometimes do not try their hardest or their best when it comes to matters that do not appeal to them. For this reason, some children often struggle where school is involved. The subjects covered do not hold their interests like playing games or toys can, so they do not always try their best to master the material, not realizing what adverse effects this can have on the rest of their lives. Achievement motivation can be accomplished when parents and teachers do what they can to make school seem more interesting to the children involved.

Connie Jordan, Las Vegas-based professional life, career and executive coach at Anchor Adversity, has more than 15 years of experience and has worked on several valuable projects including the establishment of charter schools in Arizona and Nevada. Below, Jordan explains in detail the essential role motivation plays in our lives from infancy through adulthood.

Achievement is something that any child, old or young, can understand as being something that is wonderful — giving that child the motivation to go through their school life to the best of their ability and learn as much as they possibly can is giving that child a gift that will last a lifetime. They will learn how good it feels to accomplish what they have set out to achieve and will gain the motivation to be able to succeed at other tasks in life as well.

Children are not the only ones who can also benefit from achievement motivation. Adults did not always obtain the skills necessary to achieve at other things throughout their life while they were young. It is up to people like their spouse, family, and friends to motivate these adults to the best achievements that they are capable of. This is not always an easy task since so many adults have fallen into a stubborn pattern and do not change as quickly as a child might.

Motivation to be the best that you can be and to achieve all of your goals is something that will give you a sense of achievement in being the best person that you possibly could be. Being confident and happy with what you have become is pretty much everyone’s ultimate goal in life. Anyone can serve as the motivating factor, so think hard about whom in your life might benefit from a little achievement motivation and what you can do to help. You never know. You might make the most significant difference in this person’s life.  Bigger than you ever knew was possible.
