When it comes to skills that contribute to success in sports, athletes, sports medicine doctors, and trainers understand that there’s a psychological element. Still, not many have the clarity of how to prepare mentally. That’s where the concept of High IQ training for high performance on and off the court comes into play.

The road to growing stronger and sharper

Several studies have supported the importance of investing time in mental preparation much in the same way as physical training. Building a strong foundation with a blend of skill development, athletic training, and nutritional education helps young athletes understand the benefits of becoming a high intellectual player on the court and inside the classroom. Designing a realistic, safe, sustainable training program can help youth improve their sports performance, focus, academics, and follow-through. And these components have been outlined in the multi-step programs developed by Dr. Julius Hearn at High IQ Academy – a Chicago-based non-profit training student-athletes.

High IQ – The new science of peak sports performance

The goal of High IQ is to unite young athletes on one platform and train them at high school level right until they reach the highest professional level. To date, tens of thousands of athletes, mainly basketball players, have joined High IQ not only to learn how to play games at a professional level but also to master the intellectual skills required to take instantaneous actions and unbiased decisions.

The recipients at High IQ Academy are given classroom training as well as practical training to achieve their best results, within the four walls and beyond it – on the pitch, too! The programs at High IQ are instructed and directed by Dr. Hearn – a Nutritionist, Physical and Massage Therapist, and Chiropractic expert who discusses the outcome of these courses, therapies, and etiquettes to follow during these sessions. Dr. Hearn brings more than a decade of experience in sports medicine, and athletic training practiced through Prestige Medical Partners, 360 Active Recovery, and Recharge Athletics. He has overseen the health of thousands of athletes, including that of Evan Turner, Patrick Beverly, Glenn Robinson, Keita Bates-Diop, and Marques Bolden.

“As a former athlete and a practicing sports medicine specialist, I understand that beneath the skin of a professional player is just a normal individual who needs that push and direction to persist through challenges. I believe, the journey from being an amateur to a professional athlete is a testament for others to go the High IQ way to experience sustainability, consistency, re-emergence, and long successful careers,” says Dr. Ju Hearn.

To bring the subtle balance between training the athletic brain and body, Dr. Hearn brought High IQ Academy into life – a long-term, yet, a simplistic solution to help the players deliver high performance on and off the court, and succeed off of it.
