Thank you so much for joining us, Mark! Our readers would love to get to know you a bit better. Can you tell us a bit about your backstory?
It’s a pleasure to be here. I’m Mark Stouffer, a lifelong Ohioan who recently retired from a rewarding career as a civil engineer. I’ve always been drawn to solving problems and building systems, and I think that same mindset has influenced my faith journey. I’m incredibly blessed with a wonderful wife, originally from Iran, who brings so much wisdom and perspective to my life, and we have two amazing children—a son and a daughter. My journey to Christianity began after college, and it has profoundly shaped every part of my life since then.
Were you brought up in a specific religion before turning to Christianity?
Yes, I grew up in a traditional Christian church that emphasized rituals and repetition. While I attended every Sunday, I found it hard to connect on a deeper level. As a child, the sermons often felt beyond my understanding, and it seemed more like a routine than a relationship with God. It wasn’t until later in life that I discovered a deeply personal faith—one that brought real meaning and joy into my life.
What led you to focus on helping others find peace with God, especially in these uncertain times?
The Bible’s prophecies played a significant role in my journey. When I started studying them, I was struck by how precise and relevant they are to our current world. Many Christians believe we’re living in what scripture describes as the “end times,” and I feel it’s my calling to help others make peace with God in these challenging moments. This peace isn’t just about eternity; it’s about finding a deep, lasting calm in the here and now. Jesus offers that peace, and sharing it with others is one of the most fulfilling parts of my life.
Why do you think some people struggle to find peace with God?
A lot of people wrestle with pain, trauma, or feelings of injustice. They often ask, “If God loves me, why does He allow suffering?” These are valid and deeply personal questions. The answers aren’t always easy, but they start with understanding God’s love and the gift of forgiveness He offers through Jesus. When people sincerely seek God, they often experience a peace that surpasses understanding—a peace that isn’t dependent on circumstances but comes from a relationship with Him.
How can someone start finding peace with God?
It begins with a willing heart and a simple decision to seek Him. Jesus said in John 7:17 that if we’re willing to follow God’s will, we’ll come to know the truth. Taking that first step—whether through prayer, reading the Bible, or talking to someone about faith—opens the door. It’s not about being perfect or following a set of rules; it’s about being honest and open to building a relationship with God.
How did you personally experience peace with God?
When I turned to Jesus, it felt like a weight I didn’t even know I was carrying had been lifted off me. It wasn’t just an emotional moment—it was a profound assurance that my eternity was secure and that God’s love was unconditional. That peace stayed with me for weeks and has been a steady source of guidance through every challenge over the past 40 years. Knowing that I’m never alone and that God is always with me has been life-changing.
Do you believe the end times are near?
Yes, I do. The Bible’s prophecies about the end times align closely with what we’re seeing today—wars, societal unrest, moral decline, and rapid technological advancements. For example, scripture talks about increased divisions among nations and cultural shifts that draw people away from God’s teachings. While no one knows the exact timing, these signs remind us to be spiritually prepared. The end times aren’t something to fear if you have a relationship with God. Instead, they’re a call to focus on faith, purpose, and how we live each day.
What role do you think Christians should play during these times?
Christians are called to be a source of light and hope in a world that often feels dark. This means reflecting God’s love through kindness, patience, and compassion, even when it’s challenging. It’s about standing firm in our faith and being examples of grace in our communities. Sharing the message of Jesus—whether through words or actions—is vital to helping others find peace and purpose. While civic responsibilities like voting and community involvement are important, our ultimate mission is spiritual: to help others build a relationship with God.
How does your writing tie into your mission?
My writing is an extension of my faith and my desire to help others discover God’s love. The books I’ve written explore the connections between the Old Testament and Jesus, showing how the Bible is a unified, divinely inspired story. By breaking down complex theological ideas and making them accessible, I hope to inspire curiosity, deepen faith, and encourage readers to explore scripture with fresh eyes. Writing allows me to share the transformative truths of God’s word in a way that resonates with people at all stages of their spiritual journey.
Can you tell us about your books?
Of course! My first book examines the Old Testament’s sacrificial system and how it foreshadows Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice on the cross. It explores how these ancient practices were designed to point toward redemption. The second book focuses on messianic prophecies, highlighting specific predictions in the Old Testament that were fulfilled in Jesus’ first coming and those that pertain to His promised return. My third book, which I’m currently working on, delves into God’s long-term plan for humanity, tracing how His promises throughout history lead us closer to Him. A fourth book is also in development, building on these themes to provide a comprehensive understanding of God’s story as revealed in scripture.
What do you hope readers take away from your books?
I want readers to see the Bible as more than a collection of ancient texts—it’s a living, interconnected story that reveals God’s love and purpose for every individual. My goal is to inspire curiosity and a hunger to explore scripture on a deeper level. Ultimately, I hope readers experience the peace and joy that come from knowing they are loved, forgiven, and part of something far greater than themselves.
How do you handle questions or doubts people may have about faith?
I welcome questions because they’re often the first step toward growth. Doubt isn’t a sign of weak faith—it’s an opportunity to deepen it. I believe God invites us to wrestle with uncertainties and seek understanding. I encourage people to read the Bible, pray honestly, and talk to trusted Christians who can offer guidance. Faith isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about continuing to seek and trust God even when we don’t fully understand.
Do you believe prayer is essential in finding peace?
Absolutely. Prayer is one of the most profound ways to connect with God. It’s not about saying the perfect words; it’s about being honest with your Creator. Prayer allows us to share our struggles, express gratitude, and seek guidance. Even when it feels difficult, making prayer a consistent habit can lead to incredible transformation. Through prayer, I’ve found peace, clarity, and strength to navigate life’s challenges.
How can we bring positivity into our daily lives?
Simple acts of kindness can have a powerful ripple effect. A sincere thank-you, a kind word to a stranger, or helping a neighbor can brighten someone’s day in ways you might never fully realize. These small gestures reflect God’s love and create an atmosphere of positivity. By living out the love of Jesus in practical ways, we not only uplift others but also reinforce the values that bring meaning and fulfillment to our own lives.
What message would you like to leave for those feeling uncertain about their faith?
If you’re feeling uncertain, know that doubt can be the start of a deeper understanding. God’s love is real and available to everyone, no matter where you are on your spiritual journey. Start by asking questions, reading scripture, and having honest conversations with people you trust. Pray, even if you’re unsure what to say—God listens to every word. Faith isn’t about perfection; it’s about being open to God and trusting Him to guide you toward peace and clarity.
