Emma Watson is full of inspiration these days. Just last week she outlined her goal-worthy habits with social media and over the weekend she won an MTV Movie & TV Award for Best Actor, using her acceptance speech to talk about the importance of empathy and imagination, the Huffington Post reports.

The star explained how the award was fitting for her character in “Beauty and the Beast”: “The village in our fairytale wanted to make Belle believe that our world was smaller than the way she saw it — that her curiosity and her passion for knowledge were grounds for alienation. I loved playing someone who didn’t listen to any of that. I’m so proud to be part of a film that celebrates diversity, literacy, inclusion, joy and love the way that this one does.”

Watson won the award during MTV’s first gender-neutral award ceremony, meaning the categories weren’t divided into gender binaries like “best actress” or “best actor.” Watson noted that this shift “indicates that acting is about putting yourself in someone else’s shoes.” She added “empathy, and the ability to use your imagination, should have no limits.”
