As women, we have gotten too comfortable in this behavior of constantly apologizing.

We apologize for our thoughts.

We apologize for our actions.

We apologize for our plans.

We apologize for taking up space.

Specifically we continue to be apologetic for our capacity to earn – A block that holds many of us back from reaching our full potential, personally and financially.

Have you ever heard a man apologize for his plans, ideas, work in the world? I know I haven’t and I’m becoming more and more aware of how many times a day I start a sentence with “I’m sorry that….”

Over the last three years as I have rolled out the GiRLiFE curriculum and spoken to literally hundreds of women who were eager to start workshops in their own communities, there was one solid comment I heard across the board:

“I could never charge money for that”

Yes, I had the exact same hangups when I first started running girls empowerment workshops, I really did but I recognized very quickly that they weren’t serving me and were keeping me stuck in lack mentality. If I wanted to be abundant and do good work in the world, I had to step out of that mindset FAST!

I did a lot of work to release those blocks and to truly own my capacity to unapologetically earn for the work that I was doing.

Here are a few of the steps that helped me and I know in my heart that they will help you too.

Whether you are starting your soul-driven business or thinking of becoming a GiRLiFE facilitator, I hope these ideas will serve you to step up and step in!

  • Don’t deprive the world of your gift – You have a brand of magic all of your own and when you play small we all lose. Share your light so the world can benefit from your message.
  • Earn for your good work – If we are going to change the world in a positive way, we need to accept payment for our good work. If we do not, our mission is not sustainable or supported.
  • Raise your self-worth to raise your net-worth – The more abundance we have inside us, the more abundance we can create for the world around us. Our earning capacity is a reflection of what we believe we are worth.
  • Claim for yourself that you deserve to earn – Whenever that feeling of shame or doubt comes up about accepting money for your good work, use this affirmation: “My good work creates abundance within me and around me.”

Stop holding yourself back.

Stop denying yourself the opportunities for true financial and personal wealth.

Step into your power.

Celebrate your capacity to earn.

The world needs your light – When you shine, we all shine.

How will you stop apologizing? What are you ready to step into? I want to know.
