Epiphany
It was in the silence of the storms that she could finally hear her voice echo. It was waiting to be heard. But first, she had to listen to her own heart beat.
She had become bitter over the years. It wasn’t an overnight process. It was years and years of giving unconditional love and getting unconditionally betrayed. Betrayed by friends, by acquaintances, by blood, by her own heart. May be that’s what she needed to grow, to learn, what being ‘thick skinned’ really meant.
She carried a lot of anger, guilt, resentment in her heart and all she got was the same. ‘When I showered love, I got betrayal in return. Now, when I am bitter, the world is getting a sadistic pleasure out of it’
What is this world made of? Why can’t people see genuine love, why can’t they reciprocate honestly? What am I lacking?
And then it struck her. The world loves itself too much. Perhaps she needs to learn to love herself first. Sometimes, even the most genuine people lack the ability to love genuinely. Forgive yourself for not knowing better. Love yourself, trust yourself and embrace your dark parts.
Yes! She heard those words go deep within as she absorvbed them ‘Émbrace your dark parts’
Handle your resentment, anger and bitterness with love. And see your world change around you. And you want to make sure that these ugly friends don’t crop up in your life again? Set firmer and healthier boundaries.
