Aurora Rosselli is an Artist, Photographer, Designer, Influencer, and Entrepreneur. Born and raised in Italy, she began her education at the Liceo Artistico and became devoted to the world of Art. After that, she enrolled at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Catania, where she continued gathering the tools necessary to express her passions you see today throughout her original artwork. She quickly gained popularity in Italy and later on her artwork was displayed in exhibits across Europe and the US. The extensive, formal background she gained of fine arts is today incorporated into her entrepreneurial perspective and has enhanced rather than formed her artistic viewpoint capturing the beautiful Art of everyday scenery and culture in her work.

Tell us about who you are and what you do.

I was born and raised in Italy, where I actively pursued at a young age, my education in Visual and Applied Arts. My specialties extend far beyond painting. Photography, sculpting, and scenography, are just a few of the other forms of art I have embraced, and after moving to the US 15 years ago, I began my carrier in Professional Photography. Today I work in Social Media marketing and as an Influencer for many world-renowned brands.

Tell us how you created this brand and what was the sole idea behind it.

It all started with my art; when I moved to the US, I began painting again. My work went noticed on social media, and I was invited to exhibit in a few Art shows in Hollywood where I was introduced to people that I considered my mentors, one of those was Hugh Hefner, head and founder of PlayBoy. I learned so much from him, and he pushed me again into photography, that’s when Eclisse Creazioni Art & Photography was born. I can say I would not be here today if it weren’t for him; I still miss him dearly.

Go in detail and tell us about how your brand works.

My photography work has many different little aspects. I do Fine Art Photography, which I strictly consider a part of myself because very personal and that includes exhibits, mainly in Italy. I do Portrait Photography of Families and Newborns. And the part that has completely taken over my life is product photography and Influencer marketing, which showcase the different aspects of my life primarily, the places I love, the products I use, my entire lifestyle.

What is your giveaway idea through this interview?

I feel like people sometimes look at my life from the little things they see, thinking I’m just trying to sell a product or to brag about the things I do, but that’s so far from the truth. In reality, I’m just showcasing what I genuinely love, things I see, products that work, all taken from my point of view. Many times through my day, I stop and take a picture of what I see laying around, and when I go over the images and edit them, I change that object in a little work of art. There’s beauty everywhere we look, especially in the little things all around us, and I would love for everyone to start seeing things from a different perspective. There’s one of my favorite pictures of my Grandfather that I took when I was 16 years old, of his hands. Not his face, not him anywhere, just his hands; That to me was so representative of him, that I didn’t need to capture him in entirely because those hands represented who he was to me in a nutshell.

Explain the challenges you went through while you were working on brand creation. What are the challenges you go through on an everyday basis?

When I work individually for a brand, at times, it is hard to translate a vision into a picture. When a brand asks for a specific shot, and they explain it to me, I might see it differently than the way they see it. Sometimes it takes many shots to get where both the brand and I are satisfied and comfortable with what we have; it’s all about communication, trust, understanding, and a lot of compromises. I have to say that I have long relationships with some brands where overtime I know precisely what they want and it gets much easier than the first couple months, but we do still have some glitches in communication and visions here and there.

How do you manage your finances through the services you offer. Any fundings etc received?

My rates are strictly based on my engagement. Sometimes I negotiate lower prices when I have ongoing collaborations with brands, and I give them special rates or packages deals. It takes a lot of time, props, and photography gear to create excellent contents, and that’s all taken into consideration when I price my work. I’ve had brands, that gave me extra funds to buy specific props and products for some pictures, it’s always nice when they do understand that you do invest so much money into what you do that they are willing to go that extra mile.

Tell us your future vision about the brand. How far do you want to take it? What is your dream about taking it to the next level?

I still want to continue with Marketing and Photography, and take it as far I can. I also want to start working more on the mental health aspect of Social Media. I have teenage kids, and I know how impactful is social media for young people. What they see is just a little window into someone’s life and is not all so glamorous as it might be perceived.

I’m also going to start work a little more with my fine Art Photography. I’m going back home to Sicily this Summer, and I want to continue with a small project I have aside related to my Sicilian culture and our traditions, all in black and white, something that’s still embedded into my memory about my childhood and the way I use to see everything around me.

What message would you like to give to anybody who has a plan of creating something of their own and making a living through it?

Always know your value and stay true to yourself. Create genuine contents and build a real relationship with your followers, listen to them and answer their questions. People love to be seen and to be heard and it’s very important to make them feel like they are part of what you do, not just spectators. It takes time to build real and engaging contents but in the long run, you will see real results.
