Having a baby is a cool thing that can happen to a woman. However, when expecting a baby there are certain changes one should expect. The changes range from being subtle to being clearly evident. The following are some of the numerous changes one should expect.

1. Swollen Breasts

Among things that often happens to women, during pregnancy, is the swelling of their breasts. Swelling of the breasts is caused by the accumulation of fats and increase in the flow of blood in the organs. The swelling happens, to prepare the individual for breastfeeding. The change that happen to the breasts not only increases them in size, it also makes them become more sensitive to touch.

2. Nausea

Nausea is another thing that comes around during pregnancy. It is often caused by rise in the hormonal level of an individual. Nausea may and may not be accompanied by vomiting.

Interestingly, this problem can be tackled in a number of ways. One, avoiding empty stomach can help in avoiding nausea. Two, foods that are high in fat should be avoided. Three, foods and smells that ordinarily cause nausea should also be avoided. In addition, addition of ginger to your food can also help.

3. Skin Darkening

Skin darkening also happens to pregnant women. A survey conducted, revealed that this happens to 90 percent of pregnant women. The darkening happens in specific areas like the nipples, areolas, navel, armpits and inner thighs. Skin darkening may not happen in the first few weeks of pregnancy, it often happens sometime around the 15th week of pregnancy. Within weeks after delivery, it disappears, although it may not disappear completely. Skin darkening can hardly be avoided, and it is best to accept that fact.

4. Increased Urination

Increased urination is also prevalent in pregnant women. During pregnancy, your body system’s metabolism increases as it now caters for two people, not just the mother. The increase in food intake and body metabolism causes increase in urination as well. This is very okay, and the water intake should not be reduced because of this. It is rather recommended that pregnant women increase their water intake.

5. Fatigue

During pregnancy, the body system increases one’s progesterone level. Progesterone is the hormone that put people to sleep. Taking healthy diet can be very helpful. In addition, regular exercise can also go a long way helping the situation.
