The holidays are beautiful. They keep us busy, and well, jolly.
But as December turns into January, we sometimes begin to feel couped up or tired of the gloomy days. (I know I do!)
So, today, here are 5 easy at-home activities to do with your family this winter. May they help you stay in great spirits from New years into February!
1. Complete a Challenging Puzzle
First, remind your kids that there are fun activities without the use of screens and put together a cool family puzzle. Make a it a group of dogs or something else the kids love. When you finish your accomplishment, glue it and hang it in a frame for everyone to look at.
2. Try New Year Trivia
Check out these amazing New Year Trivia questions to see how much you know about this fun day of the year!
3. Have a Living Room Campout
First, get that fire going (or put one on Netflix) and put up a fort or tent. Have the kids grab their sleeping bags. Then, put some foil packets and s’mores in the oven, and you’ve got yourself a fun, but WARM campout!
4. Have a Snowman Building Contest
Who can build the best snowman? Igloo? Or fort? If that’s too much, make it a snow angel contest instead. Or just do one epic snowball fight that you’ll be talking about for years!
5. Enjoy a Soup or Chili Day
Finally, use a day off to whip up your favorite soups, stews, and chilis. Freeze the extras and you’ll have a hearty meal whenever you need it this winter! (This is great for planning ahead with a family!)
In Conclusion
While the rest of winter isn’t as fun as December, it can be as beautiful as we make it. So, go ahead, create your own magic this winter!
