In 1989 I attended a public speaking seminar in a hotel where I was staying somewhere in Long Beach, California because I had a few days off between tours, and I was bored. I was a tour guide at the time, taking people from Switzerland all over the US. The person who presented this said seminar was, brace yourselves: The one and only Tony Robbins…

At the end of this seminar day, I thought that this guy was a total nut job, a freak who thought he knew it all, and at the same time, he had said something to me that I needed to hear, the fact that I was in charge of my life and if I wanted to achieve something, I would have to understand that I have “Unlimited Power”, that’s the book written by Tony, which I promptly bought and still have, I wish I would have made him sign it for me. Of course, later on, I also bought “Awaken the giant within” and I have been following Tony Robbins all my life. There are many other people who wrote books on empowerment and personal development, including myself, but in my case, the people who empowered me most were Dr. Joseph Murphy, who told me about the power of my subconscious mind and Tony Robbins who taught me how to use it.

It would be wrong to say that Tony Robbins changed my life because nobody can change your life but yourself. Reading a book or attending a seminar will motivate you but the work needs to be done by each and every one of us, every day, all our lives. Life is a continuous learning process with many ups and downs, and I believe that the secret to life is to learn how to react to negative events because they happen to all of us. I have learned that, and when people tell me that I am always lucky, it makes me smile because I know that nobody is born lucky or unlucky, I have learned that the real causes of good or bad luck are our thoughts and behaviour, recognising opportunities and becoming resilient to whatever bad stuff happens and turn it around to our favour.

So, let me give you some advice Tony Robbins: What is happening with you and BuzzFeed is a part of this time and society which has made you a very rich man. As you know very well, every coin has two sides (some people say it’s three with the edge). Just as fast as your products are selling on the internet, is as fast as these accusations are being spread. You know what is true and what is not, you put yourself out there, you have to deal with it. Not everyone likes you, you know that. Me personally, I like you very much and I am sending you lots of love and light. This too shall pass.

I am the author of the book “The Soul Kit” and a Life Coach, NLP Practitioner and Motivational Speaker. My life purpose is to add value to people’s lives and brighten the path of those who are a little lost in the dark.  I am originally from Switzerland but live in Cyprus with my husband, and we have two grown up children. I speak 6 languages and also work as an interpreter. I found out very early in life that if we want to achieve something, we have to take action and not wait for someone else to do it for us. Life doesn't happen to us, we make it happen. I had a bit of a tough beginning, my mother was 16 years old when she gave birth to me and wanted to give me up for adoption, my grandfather insisted to take me home and I grew up with my grandparents but unfortunately when I was 10 years old, my grandfather died. I felt a lot of insecurity and shame and spent many years feeling quite lost and worth less than others but was determined to achieve something in my life. When I started understanding that we are in charge of our life and that it’s entirely up to us how we want to create it and that we must never allow our past to define our future, I started creating a wonderful life for myself. As a young woman, I worked as a tour guide in many different countries all over the world and learned about other cultures and mentalities, I learned that even though we may look different and speak different languages, we are all the same, with the same needs, wishes and dreams, and that we all have the need for safety and happiness. I have travelled to over a hundred countries, and I love to get to know people, appreciating similarities and respecting differences while bringing out the best in each other.
