- After leaving the military in 2014, Brandon Odom became an affiliate marketer. He has achieved top ranks in a global direct sales company, founded or co-founded more than a half dozen digital businesses, including a Latin dance event production company, and is considered a “super affiliate” for his ability to drive a high volume of sales to online offers.
- In the last few years he has directly coached over 100 aspiring entrepreneurs in launching their own profitable affiliate or direct sales businesses online, allowing them to walk away from their jobs. He has positively impacted thousands of others through digital training courses and software they use to run their businesses.
What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?
I was inspired to become an entrepreneur right after my Afghanistan deployment. I realized that my time and potential was being wasted as a staff officer. Even though I’d been groomed for and was offered the most prestigious command position for my career field, I wasn’t excited about it (or the rest of my foreseeable future). I wanted control over my time and income, and I wanted to be able to pursue my passion for Latin dance without having to make it a full-time job. So I started looking for ways to turn that into reality.
If you could start over, what would you do differently?
I would focus more on building my personal brand. I was always just an affiliate or behind-the-scenes doing operations. Because of that, I’ve allowed negative fake reviews to rank in search and built a ton of other peoples’ brands, often to my detriment.
What are you most looking forward to?
I’m really looking forward to all the systems I’ve been putting into place coming online over the next few months and allowing us to grow to the next level while working even less. We did mid-7 figures in sales last year, but I expect we’ll be at 8 figures within 18 months (I’ll be working half the time I am now).
