Former Google design ethicist and Time Well Spent founder Tristan Harris talked to Thrive Global about one of his biggest concerns around our collective smartphone addiction: what it’s doing to our humanity and self-worth and what it means to “raise a generation of people who will have never known anything before using screens all the time.”

“It’s not some kind of small problem where we’re just a little bit more distracted,” Harris said. “It’s actually changing how we see ourselves. It’s hijacking all of our inner and our social spaces.”
