I had the chance to have a quick chat with Adam Jordan who is a social media marketer who specializes in viral growth through Instagram and Facebook. Adam has built a network of pages, influencers and leaders of the industry over the 7 years of utilizing social media and currently works with some of the largest companies in the fintech, app, and fashion space.

I got to ask him about his backstory and upbringing, here is what he had to say:

In your own words, what’s your story Adam? How did you get to where you are today?

While at University, I started a mens fashion blog on IG in my spare time before it was a popular platform. My page MensFashionCo, after a year or so of consistency, started to gain a solid follower base and I began monetising the page selling ad space to other brands. I then began a mini agency managing similar accounts across a range of niches. I done this while working part time at a retail store back home in Liverpool, England.

That’s incredible! So, what happened next?

I realised while working at retail I didn’t really enjoy being told what to do or where I had to be. I valued and still value freedom and flexibility as my main indicator of success. The ability to go where I want when I want. I began social full time and invested every cent I had in buying platforms, traveling across the country and world to connect with like-minded individuals across Canada, US and Asia.

As my passion for travel grew and my knowledge of the industry became stronger, I created Social Kick. Helping brands worldwide with nothing but a laptop and a mobile phone. I seen past the vanity of big offices and multiple staff, and instead used the opportunity to travel the world further expanding my knowledge and experience on a much more beneficial level.

Everything is now online, there is no need to over-complicate a job or tell yourself you have to be sitting behind a desk in an office to work. Work can be done anywhere, you just have to adopt a mindset and a balance to make sure you actually achieve your goals.

Thank you for sharing your awesome story Adam! Do you have any last words of advice for the readers?

Don’t get caught up with the vanity of big fancy offices, staff or equipment. Use what you have access to and figure out what your goal is to make sure you’re heading in the right direction.

Also, do what you actually love doing, if you’re going to be an entrepreneur, don’t just to it for the cash. It’s very easy to lose sight of everything when all you’re doing is trying to fill your pockets. Find your goal and prioritise that to shape your future. Mine was freedom and will continue to be.
