Irrespective of where you work or what you do, one thing is certain – you need productivity to succeed. And in this tech-driven age, setting priorities and staying focused may even be a more daunting task than the actual work that needs to be done. So, how exactly do you maximize each and become a productivity rock star? Here’s how:

Establish a Daily Routine

If you don’t have a daily routine, then I can assure you of this one thing – you won’t accomplish much. Why? It’s simple…you’re not organized! And if you’re not organized, you can totally forget about being productive, because productivity isn’t about how many hours you spend at work, but how efficiently you’re able to accomplish your daily goals.

So, here’s the deal – you need to create a schedule and stick to it! Every Sunday evening, create a list of tasks you need to tackle for the week and break it down into feasible daily deliverables. Set a standard time for everything – from waking up, to breakfast, exercise, breaks, answering emails, bedtime and pretty much everything you do each day. That puts your mind to rest and helps avoid distraction.

Time Every Activity

Twenty-four hours – that’s how much time you’ve got in a day – not a minute more! And if you can’t manage it, you won’t achieve much. Every task you intend to tackle must have a timeline, if it doesn’t, you’ll spend way too much time on it and that will literally annihilate your daily productivity.

Time tracking tools can help you greatly in keeping a tab on every task in your schedule. Using time trackers also allows you to have access to a daily report of what you did or didn’t do with your time for that day and this will help you to adjust and plan better for the next day.

Start Sleeping

This may sound counter-intuitive but if you want to start making the most of your days, then you need to start sleeping more. We live in a crazy world where daily expectations are through the roof and in the midst of all that chaos, it’s easy to consider sleep a luxury you can’t afford.

But here’s the thing, if you don’t get enough sleep each day, you can forget about being productive. Research studies have shown a direct link between sleep quality and workplace productivity. So, if you want to operate with Kryptonian energy at work, then start getting 6-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep each night.

Eat Well and Exercise More

A balanced diet and regular exercise doesn’t just give you abs, it also boosts your energy level and brain health. And no, pizza or doughnut doesn’t count as balanced diet. If anything, junk food will only make you fat, tired, miserable and unproductive, so, start eating clean!

On a daily basis, aim for 20 minutes to 1 hour of exercise, either in the morning or evening, but not too close to bed time. Proper exercising helps to improve blood flow, sleep quality and brain health – all of which work in tandem to help you maintain an energetic and productive day.

Workplace efficiency and productivity is possible…with the right daily habits. Incorporate these tips into your daily routine and you’ll be more productive than ever before.
