Self worth is one of the main topics that always comes up with clients, and also friends.

For reasons known to them, that we gradually uncover, lies a firm belief they don’t deserve their version of success.

I want you to remember that you’ve been given the gift of life. Do your best to treat it as the most precious gift you’ve ever received.

Through life’s experiences, our self-worth gradually works itself down to an all time low and it takes work to increase it.

Try these pointers below to help increase it back to health.

Let go of what people think

Do you get caught up in worrying about what people think? Establish who these people are. Are they friends, family or strangers? Does their opinion really matter to you? What do you think these people are also doing? I’ll put money on that they are not thinking of you; because they are also worrying about what people think of them!

Stand tall beautiful, hold your head up high, be proud and let go of what people think, don’t let them stand between you and your desires.

Turn judgement into kindness

It seems to be a human hobby to people watch and pass comment whether good or bad. However — it is none of your business what they are saying and you are likely to never find out so let it go; it’s weighing you down.

If you are passing judgement on others, how about making a kind comment and maybe even tell them. Yes, even if it’s a stranger — who doesn’t love to receive a compliment? If it’s coming from a place of envy, what is it bringing up in you?

Do what you’re best at

What are your talents? What do you enjoy doing? Focus on doing the thing that makes your heart sing and notice how it makes you feel. Relish in that feeling of goodness, where you feel joy, powerful and confident.

Feel the positive vibes and celebrate what you are achieving, even the tiny wins. Write yourself a compliment to stick in a jar when you finish your day. Read them at the end of the week, month or year for some self-worth soothers.

Accept where you are

Acceptance can be a key turning point. Instead of beating yourself up for not being where you want to be, having what you want, and doing what you love, accept where you are with gentleness, compassion and kindness.

After all, this is what you show your loved ones isn’t it? I don’t believe it’s too much to ask to treat yourself in the same way. Acceptance, self-love and nurture, whilst breathing compassion into your soul, is a great foundation on which to build and take the next step.

Work on your mindset

You must work on your mindset every day. Retrain your brain into believing you are worth it, and that you do deserve your inner most wishes. Write positive statements that you find believable and remind yourself of them daily so it becomes a habit. Find two or three to begin with and say them in the shower, or in your head when you’re brushing your teeth!

You also need to also protect yourself from the negative influences surrounding you. Who are the dream stealers in your life? Who makes you feel crappy after spending a few hours with them? Reduce the amount of time you spend with them, or protect yourself before you do!

Working on your self-worth is like putting the foundation blocks in before you start building a house. You can’t put the roof on until you’ve got the walls up. You can’t build the walls until you have a solid foundation. Each brick you lay will cement firmly onto the one below, one by one. When you are rising up, layer by layer, you will feel more solid and stable on your foundation until you are unshakable.

Stand in your power, values and beliefs knowing that the future you dream of can be yours. Do the work on yourself and you will see that you are worth it after all — because you are incredible, talented and already enough.
