James Corden hosted the Grammys Sunday night and, among other culturally relevant jokes, included a quip on the number of cell phones waving around in the air at a live performances.

Corden looked directly into the audience’s eyes (aka, the camera) and said he wanted them to really feel that they were watching a live show. Then (per standard concert routine,) 5 cell phones were placed directly in front of the camera, completely obstructing the view. If you’ve been to a live show and sat anywhere but the front row, this is a phenomena you’re familiar with.

The joke comes at a time when many performers (hey, Jack White!) are making their shows “phone-free” in an effort to promote a “100% human experience.”
