Nobody doubts that links are the most determining factor to achieve position and probably will continue to be in the coming years. In the world of niches, S.E.O on Page usually has almost everyone covered and it is in the link building where one makes a difference and manages to position up. In today’s article, I will show you everything you need to know about link building and how to apply it correctly to your niches.

Types of links

Before entering the subject, I consider it important that you know the most common types of links that you can find, commonly classified among S.E.Os in this way: thematic pages, media, own network and replicable.

Niche edits

Links from niche edits are the best links you can get them on Sir Linksalot. The more the page matches the theme of your niche, the better. They are also the most natural and safe for Google since it can be seen as normal to receive a link from a website similar to yours.

On the contrary, the cost is usually quite high; it is not easy for the competition to link you, to convince them, you will have to offer a high price or enough resources in return.

Media

Media links are in fashion. Platforms have greatly facilitated their obtaining. They have the advantage that these domains usually receive a large amount of traffic, in addition, they accumulate a lot of authority.

Its main disadvantage is that they publish dozens of URLs a day and that makes your sponsored post gain very little relevance within the portal, in the following sections I will deepen this topic.

Own network

They are the links from websites that belong to you; from private blog networks (PBNs) created with the sole objective of doing S.E.O to monetized niche websites.

They are undoubtedly a great resource and their main virtue is that you have 100% control of where the link is going to be published and in what way, being able to get the most out of it (there is nothing like a link directly from home).

Replicable

The typical links from forums, profiles, comments, blogs 2.0 and others that you take to the competition by pulling Ahrefs or Backlink Shitter. Its value depends a lot on its location, but as a general rule, it is usually quite small compared to the rest and its main objective is to naturally provide the link profile of a website.

How to measure the quality of a link

Before investing resources in obtaining a link, it is important that you know how to identify its quality in order to estimate its real value and how much money/time you should invest.

This becomes very important if you invest money in marketplaces of links since in these you will find authentic garbage at a very high price and at the same time, gold nuggets at very affordable prices and you have to learn to identify them.

The first thing I do is check that the theme matches or at least adaptable to my niche page, if not, I already ruled out.

The next filter is to check web traffic. It is important that I have a minimum of organic traffic, but it does not usually interest me. To check, I use Ahrefs. Although there are tools that give you valid data for free. Once I arrived here and verified that the theme coincides and has organic traffic, I am already interested and the next steps will only increase my interest or decrease the resources I am willing to invest.

Another thing I usually look at is its organic traffic graph to check its age if it has suffered any current penalty and trend. The more authority the domain has, the better. For this I use Ahrefs, I check the number of incoming domains, their quality and their UR / DR metrics. As an alternative is Backlinks hitter with which you can take a look at the incoming domains of a website; Majestic and its TF and CF metrics; Moz and its PA / DA metrics.

And finally, the location of the link is closer to the home link is (which is usually the page with more authority), the more power this will have.
