My breath seems distant. My heart beats quietly amidst the noise.

In this moment, do I have the courage to forget?

Things that frustrate, anger, hurt, & worry me more?

Challenged to be quiet. Really still.

To enjoy in this moment, I am both alive, free and well while walking along this shore.

Time stops only when we choose it. If only for a brief stop along our way.

Giving us this instant to reflect. To hear the life in our heart and in everything we pray.

Being thankful for everyone & everything around us.

Instead of feeling sad based on what others say.

The holiday season is not about our calendars. Nor the gifts we share when paid.

They’re meant to share a simple joy.

That’s born within us as we start each of our days.

To be filled with who we are and not what we want.

It’s easier to love, when we are not what everything’s about.

Seeing that we are one when words divide.

Sensing others have the same needs, suffering quietly by our side.

Bring life into the world, one smile at a time.

See good. Ignore bad, Leave judgment far from our Christmas tree.

Why is it so hard for us to understand, it’s okay to simply be?

Lucky to be here. Lucky to be alive.

It’s both the mirror and the window, where we can best thrive.

One moment to look inside.

One moment to forget what we urgently hide.

Seeing others. Being still. Connecting more than driving by.

In this moment, it’s as simple as that.

There’s no need for any facts or searches for more.

Life is full of feelings, that goes far beyond us keeping any score.

Remember this, if you can, as you carry your present through the next door.
