“Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.” An old saying, which sounds cliche. Yet, it continues to carry truth. So truthful, that it reigns over today’s premises of beauty; challenging it, simultaneously.

Beauty truly is subjective, which means every woman is her own, unique beauty. Mainstream television and media outlets has us believing that only a select few are blessed with the gift of beauty. That their depiction of beauty is something we should aspire to. Women are punished for not representing or depicting these unrealistic standards of beauty. Its painful, devastating, and even life-threatening for many. Oddly enough, these popular definitions do not even characterize the entirety of beauty. On the contrary, beauty stays focused on the physical. The outside. The shallow. Segmented and removed from the entire picture. This monopoly of beauty stays as a fragment. A chopped and dissected part to be prized and pulled out. Displayed in a see through, glassed case. To be observed from the outside. And, never to be examined within.

The fact of the matter is that beautiful women acknowledge the different facets of beauty. Not only do they relate it to them, but they use their beauty to relate, and interconnect, to other people. Its never just about them. Beauty is expansive and moves through other people’s lives. Beauty is found in every culture, nation, and language. It is constantly flowing, and always looks to illuminate and enrichen spaces, in need of being beautified. So, now that we have gone through a more real, authentic, and humane definition of beauty, let’s see how truly beautiful women define healthy normatives of Beauty.

Embracing Every Part-the good, the bad, and the uglier

Women who accept their physical flaws bring a more humane touch to beautiful artistry. By acknowledging their personal flaws, they take us on a journey surrounding how they got to embracing those flaws. Their physical imperfections demonstrates how they build healthy foundations of self-esteem. Foundations, which may even go against the mainstream. They reveal themselves as natural women. Forget about surgeries or enhancements. They will stick to body shaping and toning, the natural way.

Make-up Is For Highlighting Their Beauty, Not For Masked Illumination

Make-up is supposed to bring out a woman’s natural beauty. Forget about packing pounds of make-up to hide what is underneath. Beautiful women treat make-up as a decorative for their natural beauty. It is not meant to hide who they are, thereby creating someone they are not. Nuf’ said.

Making Others Feel Beautiful Around Them

You can tell authentic, beautiful women because other people begin to feel comfortable in their own beauty. Beautiful women do not use beauty for vanity or self-idolation for others to worship or covet their image; thereby neglecting their own. Instead, they want to spread beautiful feelings around for other to feel loved and embracing of their own image.

Image Is Connected To Life Forms Or Activities, Reflecting Their Beauty!

When you walk into an authentically beautiful woman’s house, you are not going to see her house decked out wall-to-wall with pictures of herself. A few will do. But, wall-to-wall? No! Leave those narcissistic tendencies out the window. Instead what you are going to observe are different things telling you the type of woman she is. For example, plants, spices delicately placed on the table, artistic vases, or glass sculptures, colors, designs, or patterns, teaching you about who she is as a person. You besta’ believe that Mother Nature is included in her reflections. Her likes, hobbies, and so forth.

Helping Others Is Beautiful!

Giving, volunteering, and assisting others or one’s community, is a natural essence of beauty. When helping others they don’t do it for publicity, an agenda, or add to their reasons of success. Even if media attention is drawn to their charitable works and efforts, they are still silent about other volunteer projects they are doing. They don’t toot their own horn every time they have done a good deed.

Creatively Beautiful

Our inner beauties are so in touch with developing that beauty on the inside, that they use fashion and style to present it on the outside. They don’t go with the latest end. In fact, they set the trend. Innovators to the core. Ever audacious and presenting their style as worthy, fashionable, trendy, and. . .beautiful. You don’t like it? Don’t look.

An Invitation For Beauty

These inner beauties, projecting it out, are approachable. They are not the popular girls, and their cliques, that made high school a nightmare. Instead, you can see them as that loving mentor or Big Sister, who always cheered us on. Who we could always talk to for advice whenever we had a problem. That’s how welcoming and nourishing their Spirits are. Beauty is not a hierarchy, or special group, in their world.

Beauty Is the Essence Of Love

Our inner beauty dames are often showing their positivity. Whether is a beautiful smile, a simple hug, a wave, gentle nod, or whatever they can do to acknowledge the presence of others. In a general sense, they put humanity, first. Because that’s the purpose of true Beauty anyhow. Making humanity, Beautiful!:)

Beauty will always be in the eyes of the beholder. It means that every woman is her unique Beauty. Which means how do we bring our personal beauty out? Its a challenge. It requires work, time, and patience. Not to mention building self-confidence. Yet, its well worth defying rigidities, hateful, and self-hating narratives (and media depictions) on how women should be. Doesn’t it simply feel good to be a woman? You beautiful woman, you!;)
