We asked Gomez some questions about his story that have insights you could apply in your own life.

1) Small Beginnings

Q: How did you get started and what or who inspired and empowered you?

“I have always wanted to work for myself. I take after my mother, who is a business owner. Although in a very different industry she is my main inspiration in pursuing these careers. I also look up to several large influencers such as Adam Sandler, Will Smith, and others, as my primary focus has always been social media and acting.”

Q: What strategies did you use when getting started?

“For my acting career I decided to audition for a company that would help me get into the industry. They took me under their wing and taught me the main keys to acting. A couple of months into working with the company they brought in talent agents to see if they were interested in signing me. Although I cannot discuss further into contracts with talent agencies just know I’ve been doing great in this industry.”

2) Mindset

Q: What kind of mindset is essential for success?

“The most important trait to have is self confidence and you must believe in yourself no matter what. Many people will face plenty of challenges and tribulations in any industry. Truly, the only thing that distinguishes me from the next person is the fact that I get back up and keep working after setbacks. There are no problems that can ever fully stop you have from pursuing your goal. Be relentless in whatever you do and you will find success.”

3) Success

Q: How do you treat failure?

“I approach failure as an opportunity to learn rather than to quit. In my opinion, failure is vital to succeed. I can guarantee that there is not a single influencer, actor, or company that has succeeded without failure. I take it as a moment to see what went wrong and how I can do better next time. You should be just as excited to fail as you are to succeed.”

Q: What does success mean to you?

“I believe that I will feel successful when I can support myself and those around me. I want to reach my full potential. Apart from traditional measures of success like money, I also want to have strong relationships with those around me. I will know when I have succeeded when I can help others in need without having to worry about myself.”
