when did we start believing
that ordinary was bad
and that we had to be extraordinary in order to be good.
the sunrise and sunset are ordinary.
night becoming day and day becoming night are ordinary.
the buds of a flower as spring comes are ordinary.
the inhalation and exhalation of breath – that which keeps us alive is ordinary.
the mountain does not try to be the valley
nor does the ocean try to become the land.
why do we try so hard to be other than we are
and more than that why do we think what we are
beautifully ordinary human beings is not good enough.
if we believe ordinary is not something we want,
why do we want to be EXTRA of something we do not want.
in my book, The Mosaic,
there is a celebration of the ordinary
an awakening to the beauty that lives within each one of us
and a new way seeing the world around us
that gives honor and glory to all who exist.
