Lately, I’ve been thinking about the past a lot. Things that have happened. Choices I’ve made. I’ve not intentionally been doing so, these thoughts have just randomly been crossing my mind.

Maybe it’s because I’ve been spending a bit of time in a town where I once grew up in. Maybe it’s because I’m meant to see where my Life has been set by “default”. Based on old mindsets and belief systems.

Either way, I’ve been finding myself reacting alot.

Reacting to people’s moods the same way I always did or reacting to situations the way I’ve always done.

It’s so tempting to just fall back into old patterns. The way it’s “always been done”. It’s also so easy to put the responsibility of change onto the other person.

Every time I do that I remember this quote:
“If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got. “ -Tony Robbins

That was my High School graduation motto and it’s been following me around ever since.

I Believe it’s because the Universe wants me to remember that real change starts with me.

But more importantly, change comes from choice.
We can choose to break the pattern. We can choose a new way of Being, Living and Acting.

That then breeds new reactions and from there new results.
It doesn’t necessarily need to be in the big ways. It can be in the small everyday ways that add up over time.

Incremental shifts in a new direction. But change none the less.
