It's okay to be a perfectionist

It seems like perfectionism gets a really bad rap these days. But is it possible that people are throwing the baby out with the bathwater?

Too often perfectionism is conflated with things like:

• Being too hard or critical of yourself
• Self-paralysis and procrastination
• Lack of self-esteem

If you’ve ever found yourself “struggling” with being a perfectionist, those feelings of struggle have nothing to do with your perfectionism. Those feelings are actually there because you’re judging and not allowing your desire for perfection to truly flourish by buying into some of the above ideas.

What if your perfectionism is actually the key that unlocks your purest essence?

Would you like to have discernment between the above qualities listed and your perfectionism? Would you like to know what it feels like to embrace your perfectionism without feeling any of the above judgments, negativity, or group conscious beliefs? Would you like to know that perfection is possible and realistic for you? If the answer is yes, then you’ve received all of this now just by bringing your awareness to it.

And while we’re at it, let’s release any judgment, sadness or regret around buying into any of those ideas in the past. Nothing has been lost, you can always start fresh again now and embrace what was eternally yours anyways.

Hear the ocean waves gently wash away everything that doesn’t serve you, and in the distance listen for a gentle ukulele strum, coming closer with a fresh, sweet and salty, floral breeze as you embrace your perfectionism like an old friend you haven’t seen in years, yet it seems like no time has passed between you.

A perfectionist delights in perfecting things. The true essence of perfectionism is in the joy of creating, and watching your creations fall into place. There’s no judgement here, no flaws, just the pure delight of watching your visions come to life and be colored in as you exclaim to yourself, “Perfect!”
