In this article, Julian shares some of the most effective social media marketing tips that will help you see real results.

Set social media objectives. Your objectives should support specific goals and be S.M.A.R.T ie. Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-bound.

Be productive. You need to be productive, not noisy.  Lots of companies and people think they need to just post and fill up customers’ news feed or timeline. WRONG!  Your messages need to be meaningful and be able to share your personality, message, and value.

Focus on value. Give people something to love you for. This goes along with productivity, but the more you share value, the more you can attract and retain customers.  Worthless communication and just pushing sales all the time turn potential customers off. Try to share content to make people laugh, think, and smile.

Be versatile. What’s trending today will not be trending tomorrow. Social media moves at lightning speed.  Keep up with trends and be creative. New platforms launch, new advertising avenues pop-up, and customers add/change platforms.  The marketing you do on Instagram might need an adjustment if you want to have successful marketing on TIK TOK, LinkedIn or other platforms.

Build trust. Being vulnerable and sharing things about your personal brand/business on social media speaks to the customers’ hearts!  If you are marketing your personal brand, people want to know your mistakes, flaws, and challenges. If you are marketing a business/products people want to find ways that they can trust you instead of the next person/company with similar products/services. Build trust by being YOU, being real, and not being afraid to be vulnerable.

Follow up with connections. Never ignore your audience or customers. Let’s say you’re on Instagram and you post about your product or service and people comment. Comment back!  If people message you or tag you in a post, like that message, respond and even repost. Successful or not, never think you are too good to engage with current and potential customers!

Listen, listen, listen. You should give an opportunity for your connections to interact.  Genuinely care about what they want. Ask through a post, IG story, video, etc. for feedback.  People always want to give their opinion on something. Take it seriously. Maybe they want you to share more value, talk more about product benefits, or just tell your story more. Ask and listen.

Think outside the box. It’s easier said than done, but you must put art into your content. Stand out with unique marketing, visuals, content, and promotions.  You can follow what others have done to be successful, but you can also add your own twist!

Use multimedia in your posts. A picture paints a thousand words, and videos are more important now than ever.  Instagram, for example, loves the use of videos (i.e. IG TV). Facebook also loves videos, and the algorithms notice videos and make them much more visible to your followers and friends.  Use creative and attractive media for more engagements and standing out. People have a lower attention span for reading and more for being entertained through videos or looking at a picture.

Measure your performance. Prioritize what you can measure, and map out your objectives.   The performance tool when you switch to an Instagram business account, for example, is incredible for seeing your account insight — age demographic, location, and so many data points that are available. By measuring your performance, you can make adjustments and improve properly.

There are so many more social media strategies that can help you take your business to the next level, but the key focus between everything is to set your goals and have objectives.

Julian wants you to try new things on social media and don’t be afraid to make mistakes!  Put out that advertisement! Ask for feedback! Be vulnerable and add value!

Consistency and sharing values over the past 9 years have helped him bring in millions of dollars of revenue through social media and he will continue focusing on these things in order to drive more customers and bring awareness to his brand and business.

Julian says one of his favorite quotes about social media marketing that he lives by is by Jeff Bezos, CEO at Amazon “If you make customers unhappy in the physical world, they might tell 6 friends. If you make customers unhappy on the internet, they can each tell 6000 friends.”

So again, focus on the right activity and you will see the right results!
