LESSON TWO: Contentment is good…
…So is AMBITION
Too often, we get to hear how great it is to be happy with what you have. We are often reminded that many people want to have what we have and, we should be grateful for what we have and be content with it.
I am not one to tell you that contentment is bad. In fact, I would readily agree that it is one of the best virtues to have. It helps you put things in perspective and it teaches you the importance of gratitude but… is wanting more really bad?
Definitely not! It is human nature to want more… a little more…and something extra. Now, there is a difference between greed and ambition. Ambition helps you see the possibilities that can be if you can put in the extra sweat, grit and hard work, greed often fantasizes about the results without laying a clear, honest foundation for the achievement of the desired result.
While you bask in the contentment of your current situation and achievements, try to think about the possibilities of getting more out of life than you already have.
‘While you bask in the contentment of your current situation and achievements, try to think about the possibilities of getting more out of life than you already have. There are people whose survival and success is directly or indirectly impacted by your own drive.’
There are people whose survival and success is directly or indirectly impacted by your own drive. Your successes and failures can have farther-reaching effects than what you can outrightly see.
What if your success story was all the extra push needed to help someone else take the leap of faith? What if your chronicles of failure are the framework for someone else to build on?
Don’t stay in your small lane feeling cool; take the courage to play in the big league. Courage is what separates winners from losers.
What if your success story was all the extra push needed to help someone else take the leap of faith? What if your chronicles of failure are the framework for someone else to build on?
REALITY CHECK!
- Are you sure where you are right now is the best you can get?
- What is your biggest ambition
- What would you need to realize it?
- What is stopping you?
- Does the cost of hesitation justify the possible reward of success?
