If you’re looking for inspiration to work out today, we’ve got you covered. Michelle Obama showed off her fitness routine on Instagram, reminding her 34 million followers that it’s never a bad idea to break a sweat!

“It doesn’t always feel good in the moment,” she wrote alongside a photo of herself in a deep lunge, holding a weighted toning ball aloft. “But after the fact, I’m always glad I hit the gym. How did you all take care of yourself on this #SelfCareSunday?”

Obama’s words are a powerful reminder that working out doesn’t always feel amazing, especially when you want to be lazy —when every fiber in your body is screaming for Netflix and takeout on the couch. But if you get up and move first, that Netflix session will feel all the sweeter.

Her followers chimed in with enthusiasm in the comments. “Damn girl. Those arms though…” one wrote. “You go first lady,” another added.

Some took her question literally, and added their own #SelfCareSunday recipes to the mix. One follower simply wrote, “Dancing,” while another got more specific: “The goal is that every morning I go for a two mile walk. I make it 6/7 days on average.”

A third comment emphasized the importance of gentleness, even when it comes to fitness: “I snoozed the alarm this morning so I missed my gym class, but I made up for it with yoga at home.”

No matter what your fitness routine might be — or what kind of self-care you practice on the weekends — we can all take a page out of Obama’s playbook and remember that the hard part is just getting ourselves to the gym/fitness studio/track/trail or wherever we like to work out. Once we’re there, we’ll be glad we made it.
