Everything that happens to us is first created in our minds. It doesn’t matter what type of seed you plant, the soil will always give back what you’ve planted; the mind works in the same manner. If you spend a majority of your time thinking negative thoughts then you will cultivate a spirit of negativity.

The other day I read daily teaching on The Secret mobile app that said “When you are feeling good, you must be thinking good thoughts. So you are on track and you are emitting a powerful frequency that is attracting back to you more good things that will make you feel good. Seize those moments when you are feeling good when you are feeling good and milk them. Be aware that as you are feeling good, you are powerfully attracting more good things to you.”

Though I sometimes forget these teachings, I strongly believe in them. It’s so easy to blame everything else for the things that are not going right in your life. Sometimes it takes one looking at themselves and the contribution they are making to those issues. After all, you are the only common denominator. It’s just something to think about when you feel weighed down by everything happening in your life.

Robin Banks once said “To change your life, you need to change your belief systems. If your beliefs about something are negative then you will repel it.”

Our thoughts and feelings send out a magnetic field, and universal energy matches our attraction by giving us more of the same, resonant energy. I’m sure you’ve walked into a room and immediately sensed that there was tension without anyone verbally proclaiming this. In a nutshell, we are able to sense the energies of those around us, and in some cases even over the phone.

We are able to create our reality through thoughts. Most people think that what happens to them is merely a coincidence but this is not always the case. Eckhart Tolle speaks of this in his book, A New Earth, he says “The law that outflow determines inflow is expressed by Jesus in this powerful image: “Give and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap.” This is a sobering thought for me, because it places the power firmly in my hands. I cannot be passive and think “life” is dealing me bad cards; I need to watch my thoughts, actions and words and see how my thoughts/words/actions are bringing those things into existence. By controlling my thoughts, I am using my mind energy to create; this is a way of reprogramming my mind.

I hope this inspires you to think positive thoughts.
