Our minds can feel overwhelmed. Burned out, stuffed with too much information at one time. Or not given the proper spiritual nutrition. Yes, physical nutrition and also mental nutrition. Those visual vitamins of healthy images, words, and sounds. What we allow into our mental sectors is significant. It determines how we choose to care for that artistry, where our minds navigate through knowledge and creativity.
There are those moments, where it becomes difficult to press on. Literally, it is difficult to push forward in our work and our work’s completion. It is extremely challenging. Well, its a sure sign that our mind is tired, and that our brain needs a break. It has been depleted of any nutrition, and definitely needs to rest, with serious recuperation. So, how do we handle that? There are a myriad of ways as to how we can provide our minds with the energetic and Spiritual nutrition, that it needs. Let’s dig further, shall we?
1. A Sound Mind-Literally!
Music is a phenomenal attribute in healing our energy fields. Simultaneously, just as we have to avoid the type of food we put in our bodies, we also have to be careful with the kinds of music we put into our minds. Music can be destructive, or it can be healing. I’d choose to go with the latter. Sentimental music is a great way to start. Musical therapy, or sounds of nature, are very enriching ways to cleanse the mind. Connecting our mind muscles with sounds of natural energies is not only soothing, but very liberating. Of course, we can add that type of slow (or up tempo) music, with its poetic melodies, to our mental nutrition play list. Who doesn’t want to hear that titillation of whispers, and joys, melt in their mind, hearts, and Souls?
2. Mind Your Images
They say a picture has a thousand words. Little do they know that from those words comes thousands of emotions. So, be careful of the images, that you allow to come across you mind. When you are going on a brain recuperation, its best to have healthy images like beautiful flowers, plants, the most beautiful travel getaways and so forth. Wow! My mind feels better just thinking about it. What is even more fascinating is how beautiful and intrinsic pictures allow one to dream! And, aren’t dreams healthy for the mind? Beauty and aesthetical images, which are pleasing to the eye, often revive the mind. So, don’t shy away from beautiful things when you need your mind to be refreshed. Turn off the news. Go outside and enjoy beautiful flowers and plants. Watch the sunset, or sunrise-if you’re up to getting up early! Go to an art gallery. Just nourish your mind with beauty, and watch it revive itself.
3. Sleeping Mindfully
Yes! Make sure you go to sleep. The brain is not an overtime machine. Treat it gracefully. Enjoy the peacefulness of rest. Not resting because one has to. Resting because one is making sure to get that quiet time. That period where the mind can be free and wander. Often going into another dimension. And, many times, that dimension can bring in vitamins, and nutritious energy, that one needs. Journeying into that other dimension, as we are sleeping, seems to refresh our minds so much. Have you ever had a sweet dream, and you wished that you didn’t wake up? That’s when you know that you have slept well. And, when you do wake up, you just feel so great.
4. Meditations Of the Mind
So, there are those times at the office, or working from home, when you just have to take a break. The energy is becoming overwhelming, and you just can’t think, anymore. Then again, your boss expects that assignment to be finished, and turned in, by the end of the day. No exceptions! Well, forget about going home early. And, that clock just keeps ticking. Fortunately for you, the break room is empty, and the space is sound proof. Which means that you can put that meditative yoga music on, and get to work. If there is even extra spacing, by all means, get on the floor, and do that physical yoga work. Yes, indeed! Physically, I’m sure you are to feel much better afterwards. Your brain feels more relaxed. You leave the break room and retreat back to your office or workspace. Next thing you know, you are done with your assignment, and your boss is happy. So happy that they have decided to call you in for a special meeting with a few other higher-ups, who have joined in. Now, aren’t you glad that you took time out for your meditation? You should be.
5. Mind Your Own Business
That’s right! During that time when you can no longer go on, mentally, you need to be by yourself. Checking out what other people are doing, as a way to distract or revive yourself is one of the quickest ways to drain yourself, mentally. Stay to yourself. Relax and center your Being into your own corner. Its pretty simple. No need to say more. Just, mind yours!
6. Mindfully Still
Remember when we discussed the importance of being still. Well, this is one of those times. Whenever, you find yourself so busy, in a chaotic way, that you can be productive, just remember to get silent. Close your eyes. Uncross you arms. Lean back and keep. . .still.
So, All! The mind is a space of creativity. In order for it to stay that way, we must continue to feed it with holistic vitamins. Those spiritual vitamins. Energy and the riches which are part of the life cycle. Cleaning out energies, which are not beneficial to the mind. During those moments when you are feeling overwhelmed, mentally drained, and unable to continue. . . Stop! And, be mindful of. . .YOU!
