It’s difficult to describe the feeling of waking up every morning with a cloud of dread hanging over your head. A few years ago, that was my daily reality. My entire life savings had vanished after a series of ill-fated stock market decisions, and I soon found myself buried beneath a mountain of personal loan debt. Each sunrise brought an unsettling mix of fatigue, hopelessness, and a nagging voice inside my head urging me to give up. But that same inner turmoil also sparked a relentless search for answers—natural, holistic ways to reclaim my life without relying on synthetic aids or expensive bandaids.

My initial introduction into so-called “biohacks” were born out of desperation. I heard that something as simple as grounding—standing barefoot on the earth—could help recalibrate a stressed mind, so I tried it. I replaced my harsh indoor lighting with calming red bulbs to mimic nature’s rhythm, drastically improving my sleep and daily energy. I started practicing intermittent fasting, letting my body rest for 20 hours at a time before enjoying a mindful eating window, and felt the sharp mental fog gradually give way to fresh clarity. Cold showers, mirror high-fiving, prioritizing hydration—every small practice became a building block for a stronger, healthier foundation. Looking back, it wasn’t a single grand solution but rather an array of these everyday habits that brought me back from the brink.

A turning point came when Moji, who is now my wife, entered my life. Together, we grounded barefoot in the park at sunrise, sipped liters of water each day with intention, and took on the shock of morning cold showers like a shared badge of honor. Moji’s unwavering support didn’t just fortify me; it amplified everything I was trying to accomplish. Inspired by the rejuvenation these habits had brought us, we both felt an urgent call to share them with others who might also be lost in their own darkness.

That’s how My Higher Being took shape: as a platform to help people discover transformative, sustainable rituals that can fit into everyday life, no matter how chaotic or uncertain it may feel. But we knew simply talking about these habits might not always be enough. We wanted tangible reminders that people could hold, see, or wear as daily cues to stay on track. That’s why we created merchandise—organic cotton T-shirts, stainless steel water bottles, phone cases, and tote bags—all featuring habit-centric messages or prompts. By physically “wearing” your habits, you reinforce them. A T-shirt that reads “I Meditate,” for example, can spark conversation, keep you accountable, and remind you why you chose this path. It’s not just a fashion statement; it’s a pledge to yourself that, every day, you’re going to take better care of your body and your mind.

Yet My Higher Being is not just about the personal gains of adopting healthy routines; it’s about collective uplift. That’s why we donate 15% of all proceeds to local underprivileged communities, focusing on providing hygiene and wellness products—plus essentials like bamboo diapers for families with babies. If we’ve learned anything on this journey, it’s that helping others meet their fundamental needs is a cornerstone of holistic well-being. Our hope is that these contributions, however modest, can spark meaningful change in neighborhoods where people are often forced to prioritize survival over health and long-term self-care.

The truth is, we’re only at the beginning of what we believe My Higher Being can become. We envision a future where our brand is more than just merchandise—it’s a movement that heals millions of people by showing them that better health, improved resilience, and daily joy can come from simple, consistent habits. Over time, we want to evolve into a comprehensive wellness network, offering deeper educational programs, retreats, and community events that make these life-changing routines accessible to everyone.

Every habit-themed T-shirt, phone case and bottle we ship out is a small step toward that larger dream. It’s a tangible entry point for someone who may feel isolated or overwhelmed, offering them reminders of their commitments. As My Higher Being grows, so does our commitment to aiding marginalized communities. We plan to expand our philanthropic reach, developing more targeted programs that directly assist those who need it most. We want to be a brand that not only thrives in terms of sales, but thrives in terms of social impact and the genuine transformations sparked by our products and mission.

For those reading this, I hope my story and the ethos behind My Higher Being resonate. We don’t claim to have all the answers, but we do stand by the simple truth that daily habits—grounding, mindful eating, better sleep hygiene, staying hydrated—can ignite incredible change. Moji and I were drawn to these practices out of necessity, discovering a new sense of purpose and possibility along the way. Now, we feel a responsibility to pay it forward by sharing what we’ve learned and guiding others to discover a path that leads to their own “higher being.” We may just be starting out, but our goal is bold: to help heal, inspire, and uplift millions, one healthy habit at a time.
