International Women’s Day in 2020 finds us on the verge of a success explosion in the world in the midst of an international health crisis. My daughter was sent home from her job at Microsoft — not a small company. Major conferences are cancelling. Flights are being changed and rerouted. It’s giving a new meaning to business as usual. How do we navigate a truly volatile global climate and keep our heads up about the future?

Amidst all the press releases I’ve received this week in celebration of March 8, news about Women Who Tech kicking off its 10th Women Startup Challenge live, the Women’s Startup Lab accelerating women entrepreneurs, SoGal Foundation creating a global platform for the education and empowerment of diverse entrepreneurs and investors, and  Powerful-U hitting the 50 million follower milestone, the news that made me read twice was from my BizChix sister from another mother, Natalie Eckdahl, on how to boost our immunity and how to create a strategy for business continuity.

She just hosted on her podcast Dr. Amy Zalman, a member of our $ix Figures Lab Group Coaching Program. She is a Professor of Foresight at Georgetown University and owns a consulting firm that helps executives and teams anticipate the impacts of critical global trends. Amy shares a fascinating perspective on how there will be innovation, new ways of doing business and a wide range of possibilities of the impact on society and our businesses.

We are not going to tell our grandchildren, “My business was going so well before the coronavirus.” We are going to create a strategy. Start with what you CAN do from the safety of your home. I spent 25 years in PR and now I spend a surprising amount of time teaching clients who to be the publicist of their own business, with the help of firms like News & Experts, teaching people with a platform how to gain the publicity edge.

The world is in your hands. It’s literally at your fingertips. 2020 is forecast to be a year of explosive success. Make sure you get your slice. You are unstoppable.
