When lush environments pair with eye candy, the senses are captivated. When you add the feeling of rain water rinsing your skin among a fresh air embrace, it is pure heaven. I will never forget my first outdoor shower experience. My private island cottage was complete with an open air shower, offering views of sailboats floating across the water, palm trees swaying in the wind, nature’s breeze kissing my skin, and the chirping of the birds harmonizing with my iPod.

For me an outdoor shower is a place of hygge, a Danish word denoting the essence of feeling a warm glow from the inside out. A place inviting a cozy, gracious atmosphere. It is the freeing of riding a Harley through a canyon as the leaves show signs of Autumn, or driving the coast in a red convertible while ocean waves embrace the sand. It is an intoxicating stillness and peace, that hugs your soul and keeps you returning for nature’s embrace. Many venture into nature seeking guidance or solace, yet few have felt the unique cleansing restoration of rinsing your body in the luxurious outdoors.

Refreshing all of the senses, it nourishes your brain with meditating vibes that stimulate the feel good emotions. It is an experience that can’t be explained, yet well worth the upgrade when you have the opportunity while traveling.

It’s been a few months since my last splash outdoors, and such as cloud surfing, it is time for a rinse. Soon, my body will get to feel the rays of the Bali sun touch my shoulders as I rejuvenate my being, but until then I share with you my favorite must visit outdoor shower/baths:

Looking into the beach versus out to the ocean is spectacular.
