I fear. You fear. He/She/It fears. We fear. They fear.

But there’s a difference in ‘how’ we fear. There’s a difference between ‘fearing forward’ and ‘fearing backwards’.

Your hands tremble when you think about your past, you can hardly talk to your parents because of all the pain you fear, you can’t forgive, you hold on to long gone emotions, you go through the same events day by day not letting yourself move on an inch forward, you regret, you put on the mask while in public, you lie, you can’t start a new business – you fear failure, you don’t call them – you fear non-acceptance, you choose to spend your time with random humans – you fear love.

This is fearing backwards.

You cry, you feel small, you surrender to your emotions, you find support within, you forgive yourself before you’ve forgiven others, you find joy in simple things, you learn how to be curious about life again, you let go everything except for your health, your energy, your time and your spirit, you establish new ventures because you are the one who believes in their success, you find your real self, you trust, you understand that you are here for a reason, you love unconditionally.

This is fearing forward.

“Fear cuts deeper than swords” ― George R.R. Martin, A Game of Thrones.

If you are already cutting yourself with fear, then cut smart.

Cut the bulk pieces. Cut the lies. Cut the anger, selfishness, emptiness, anxiety, and depression. Cut the fear of being alone, the fear of broken heart, the fear of undone project. Cut it off.

Because you will never be alone when you start being your best friend. Because your heart will never be broken when you start loving unconditionally. Because your project will never fail when you start giving it a little more time than you thought it required.

“Don’t be afraid of your fears. They’re not there to scare you. They’re there to let you know that something is worth it” ― C. JoyBell C.

You will never reach perfection anyways – why would you fear then?

Expose yourself to your deepest fear. After that, fear has no power, and the fear of freedom shrinks and vanishes. You are free.

Let yourself be scared in what you are feeling but be brave in what you are doing. Be vulnerable. It’s the questions we can’t answer that teach us the most – don’t fear the questions.

Accept fear as part of your life – specifically the fear of change.

Fear forward despite the pounding in your mind that says ‘turn back’.

“Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less” ― Marie Curie.
