I identify as a liberal democrat. This list is an evolving document on engaging with our government.
The administration claims that it is “at war with the press” and believes the press should “keep it’s mouth shut”. Thomas Jefferson on the other hand believed that, “a properly functioning democracy depends on an informed electorate.” I’m more on the Jefferson side on this one.
Action: Support the press with a real, paid-for subscription.
Today I’m calling the subscriptions department at The New York Times to see if they’ll sell me a four-year package, and adding a paid subscription to The Washington Post.
NYTimes is offering a gift subscription when you sign up, maybe share your subscription with Stephen Bannon, Mr. Trump’s Chief Strategist who called for the press to “keep it’s mouth shut.”

Previously
Gag orders. Science
Ideally: I’d like to have an app that aggregates daily action curated by thought leaders and activists. The app would have me prioritize my areas of engagement, and I would get a daily update upon which to take action. Action would have a variety of engagements, like volunteer, donate, support, educate.
