Have you ever worried about what people are going to respond when you finally decide to put yourself out there. This can be when it comes to dating, marketing, applying for a new job or a promotion – ANYTHING where it puts you ‘out there’…

Some of the responses that people are are things like:

“How dare you try to sell me something through your emails!”

“You’re a SCAMMER!”

“You’re only interested in this for the money”

“What makes you think YOU are qualified for this?”

If you’ve ever worried about that stuff, then you’re not alone. Yep. Me too. In fact, for a long time, early on in my business, I was SO WORRIED about making an offer through emails; I was worried about people thinking I was full of myself. I was so apprehensive that people thought I was just some wannabe who didn’t have any substance.

If we use the business analogy for a moment… A shop doesn’t open up just so it can give away free samples or only provide eye candy. Don’t get me wrong, that will happen, but it’s not the only reason that they’re in existence.

They are there to SELL their products. They are there to SELL their services.

And whenever you want to apply for a new job, you’re essentially trying to SELL THEM on YOU and why they should hire you.

If you’re looking at dating someone, you are both essentially selling each other on yourselves!!!

So here’s an activity for you today…..

I want you to think about what’s the worst thing that they can say to you?

What’s the most awful thing they could say about you?

How are these ones:

* That you’re a scammer.

* You’re greedy and all you want is money.

* That you’re a manipulator.

* That you’re no better than a slimey used car salesman.

* Pfft. You’re a snake oil salesman.

* That you’re in it only for the money.

* You don’t really care about this company.

* You’re so full of yourself

* All you’re doing is telling me what you think I want to hear

* STOP TEXTING ME !

When we break it down, really, if someone was to say or even think some of those things above, they’re actually really not that bad are they?

I mean, come on. If you subscribe to MY way of marketing yourself, it’s all based around VALUE VALUE VALUE. Showing them unequivocally that you can do what you’re saying you can do. Showing them:

THAT YOU’RE AN AUTHORITY IN YOUR FIELD

Kind of makes you want to shake your head at the mere thought of someone complaining about you go about marketing yourself, right?

YOU HAVE TO BE YOUR OWN CHEERSQUAD FIRST AND FOREMOST BEFORE YOU HAVE A HOPE IN HELL OF CONVINCING SOMEONE ELSE THAT YOU’RE AMAZING

So put yourself out there.

Provide lots of value.

Some people will like you and some won’t…

Don’t let that deter you!

Nicola
